Why are the semis being allowed to go across the viaduct? It's bad enough they turned Johnson St. into a truck route, something else I will never figure out.

It is open to semis. It was built to handle them. The signs prohibiting them are gone aren't they?

Most of the truck drivers that drive on roads in town that are posted ,are local, not out of towners.wasson Everett and shabonna from hickory st thru 1st and Bronson st are posted no trucks and I see a lot of those truckers driving down that section that prohibits trucks.

Here is one that is confusing, the corner of 12st and s. Illinois st southbound to vactor have a no trucks sign posted there and also have a weight limit of 6 tons. No passenger vehicle weighs that much. So it should say no semi trucks.

FofT and other Streator members. This is right up my alley. Trucks turn off the viaduct onto North Bound Shabbona St to go to Owens. The 600 block of Shabbona is getting some big azz ruts and pot holes because this is a residential street.
The is a sign going south at Morrell and Shabbona that says no trucks. Truck route is Illinois St and Bronson St. Many of the trucks are local trucks but the drivers want to go the easy way.
Some truckers are out of town because the address is 901 N Shabbona and their GPS gets them to the razed area of the old office. Our city has tried to get the facility to get dispatch to direct them to the plant with much luck.
I see several semis a day turn off the viaduct onto Shabbona.
Obviously since the road was built for light car use, the city will need to resurface the road for a truck route.
I also see a lot of cars speeding.
