I thought this only happen in the mean pee stained streets of Streator. Surely this can not happen in Naperville with their high end businesses and beautifully landscape parks and berms. The quality of life is so rich…nooooo! Sorry to those who don't have Facebook. here's the transcript - some kids in the street, expletives exchanged, street brawl ensues, more expletives and taunts, police arrive

Hasn't it been the frequency of the fights here and the lack of consequences that I have been talking about and been asking for changes for? I noticed that you stopped your transcript a little short. The police arrived in a large show of force, with an officer tackling the brawlers as another tasers one of them. The crowd cheers and the video stops before they are hauled away in a police car, but it is pretty clear to me that the brawls weren't allowed to just walk away. Do you think they were allowed to just walk away, like in the Streator video that I posted last summer? Don't you think that there not being consequences for the street brawlers, like in your Naperville video, we are just encouraging these things to keep happening here too often, resulting in the embarrassing numbers printed in the newspaper this year? Don't you think that the other business owners in that area would expect their City leaders to change the way things are done if their police let brawlers walk away, leading to a rough reputation for the area keeping people away and embarrassing numbers printed in the paper? If the Naperville City leaders just ignored the business owner pleas to clean up the problems for many years, wouldn't you expect them to start asking for new leaders? Too bad that our Mayor doesn't even have any plan to take care of these problems here.

I'm curious to know what they were charged with and if it is an ordinance we need passed here. It is needed. But is it allowed by cities our size or is it something that home rule powers give them greater authority on? The city should look at it and if it can be done here, do it and enforce it.

Assault - At Common Law, an intentional act by one person that creates an apprehension in another of an imminent harmful or offensive contact.Yes, I agree that we should look into making assault illegal in Streator, so that we can catch up to the rest of society and possibly be able to have more people be comfortable coming here. Maybe that is something a new Mayor could work on next year after the election, since our current mayor seems to have no plans to do anything to correct these problems.

Does the Naperville make it acceptable that a tourist was beaten here and hospitalized with head trauma? Does it pay the medical bills of the local man whose jaw was broken? If someone dies in one of these fights, will knowing that there are also fights in Naperville make the family miss their loved one any less? If I find some information on a Naperville teen over-dosing on heroin, will that also somehow justify that problem here? Will you start ridiculing those who talk about that problem and look for solutions? Does your wife and the other Council members share these views that the bar violence here is acceptable because there was a fight in Naperville too? Do they think that allowing it to continue protects the public or Mr. Endres investment or does anything but hurt other businesses? Do the other tourism Commission members think that the bar violence is good for our reputation or trying to attract people here, because fights happen in Naperville? Would it have been so terrible for our Mayor to allow conversation of solutions to these problems, or for our Council/Liquor Commission to take action to not allow the excessive numbers printed in the paper? If they would have taken some action, you wouldn't have to listen to me talking about these problems.

Assault is illegal already.........maybe they don't enforce it all the time though.

Was your post trying to show that fighting is acceptable because it happens other places just an attack on me that you are not going to stand behind now? Since you and your spouse are so heavily involved in our City's leadership, I would like some answers instead of attacks. I think that solutions should start being talked about to give businesses other than bars a chance to thrive. Our City leaders seem to just attack people for asking for solutions.

How was the concert last night? I wanted to go but didn't get back into town in time. Hopefully nobody got beat up or worse yet, peed on. Yes, I too hope that nobody got beat up or peed on, but you never know with it being Streator. I have seen many fights and people urinating in public, but haven't seen them peeing on each other. It seems that you have? I think it is a shame to have a grown man pull his peni s out of his pants and urinate in front of a group out for a night of family entertainment, but it absolutely has happened. I begged an officer to press charges when it happened, but the drunk from out of town got more respect than someone who had invested a lot to open a long time vacant building. With there being no consequences for these type of actions, I have seen it happen over and over again. There are some people who think these things are perfectly acceptable, but I think that there are a lot of people who do not want to subject their families to it so they stay away and it hurts our community. I think that our City leaders should be talking about solutions to these problems instead of taking jabs at the people who are asking for solutions. That is why I think that we need new leaders.

007, I realize that you don't appreciate Kyle's blog, but your lengthy pests aren't stopping him from expressing his thoughts. Actually they just make matters more difficult for those who want to exchange ideas and have discussion. Its your right to do, but boy what a headache to scroll through:-)
