Well, my neighbor, just came and plowed me,out, and a few others. I was just getting dressed to go shovel. I, did, loan my shovel to another neighbor, tho. I love it, when ppl help ppl. Great idea, about shipping it west. It sure would be safer, than some of the stuff we ship.

I heard a part of California, lost much of the citrus d/t frost in December. Said to look for oranges and lemons, to skyrocket. Something about the coffee plant, too.

Northern California has been taking it in the shorts for years now...That's where the almond and pistachio farms are, and the delta they got their water from was closed to them over smelt...Top that off with the drought, and everything from lettuce to citrus, nuts to berries will go through the roof...It will effect dairy farms and vineyards as well... That being said, you can damned sure bet that Beverly Hills will be pristine and green all summer...

That aquifer goes to SW Kansas. They had no business getting involved w/ farming there and across the narrow borders to OK and West TX. It eventually helped to create the dust bowl. Ken Burns made a doc about this. Irrigation only lasts so long. Meanwhile places like amarillo and Lubbock are growing and the aquifer is continuing to go down. My mom's grand father invested in this POS land. New well was 100k and the crops were nothing but land and income taxes. I got out of it b-4 it sent me to the Poor FARM! LOL.

The documentary showed that my Mom's family land was pretty much ground zero for the dust bowl. They called folks like my great grandfather "white shirt" owners. They were speculators each and every one. Most, like my great grandfather, pretty much lost their money.

HHMMMM....OK, back on subject what Jim B can do with all that snow......You COULD go buy a BUNCH of adult beverages and set them out in a huge natural outdoor cooler, ice them down and invite all of SO over to drink them........ Par-Tay Too bad we didn't have a huge ice house on the back of the Dipper........ pack the snow in there and you could save a ton of money next year on refrigeration.....

Hubby and I were on one of the back roads returning from Morris the other day, at the end of a drive was an OLD WHEEL BARREL just sitting there full of snow. We both laughed and had the same thought; have the Grands get out our old wheel barrel, fill it up with snowballs, put up a sign Selling SNOWBALLS .10 each. If nothing else, it would give someone a laugh as it did us. OR, The city would fine US and the kids for selling Snowballs Without a Permit! (I AM OLD enough to remember the Milkman and our tin box on the front porch for delivery. BEST milk except what came straight from the farm! I also recall Home Juice; Orange Juice home delivery. I married the OJ and Charles Chips Delivery Boy)
