Nothing worse than boring food during a severe weather outbreak.

I keep yeast, flour, shortening, eggs, and sugar in the house. We might go through 1 loaf of bread in a month. I actually give more to the birds than what gets eaten. Anyone ever notice the cheapest bread lasts forever where the more expensive turns green with mold first? I wonder what the .88 cent loaf is made of compared to the Butternut brand? (Pink Fluff from McDonalds, maybe?) Y U C K Y ! ...

I like Buttermilk bread, for only a $ 1.00 it stays fresh for a long time. Of course Butternut bread is also good if you do not mind paying $2.50 a loaf.

Most bread is made the same and Gomes out of the same oven. It then goes into different brand wrappers. So you can pay 99 cents for generic or $3 for butternut or dome other brand. Friend who used to work for butternut told me this when he visited the master bakery.
