After visiting this site www.tractorsupply.com , I am left to wonder why the Streator store is not open yet . It has missed two supposed opening dates and it doesn't look like anything is happening out there. I'm not sure what the city leaders could do to speed up the process but they lost tax revenue from another holiday season........ If it all revolves around a person "the landlord" someone needs to open this guys eyes.......but I'm dreaming again.

Like many, I've been wondering what the hold up is too...I called their corporate office last week and asked them what the deal is, and was told likely this summer... While no reason was given, I've heard a couple of things recently... One, K-Mart still holds a lease there, which interferes with TSC utilizing the parking lot for some sort of structure... The other, the Landlord is slacking when it comes to making the necessary repairs to accommodate their needs...

Maybe they are waiting for the City's laying hen ordinance. During their "Chick Days", in the spring, they do sell farm animals. If the city talks about outlawing them in commercial zones it might influence their decision in one way. If they were to not only allow them in commercial zones, but also in residential zones, it could influence them in another direction. There are probably a lot of different things that go into their decisions though.

If that were true myself, wouldn't that affect pet stores?

I guess it comes down to what is considered a farm animal.

If that were true myself, wouldn't that affect pet stores? Yes. If the pet store(s?) wanted to sell farm animals and/or supplies, but farm animals were outlawed in commercial zones, it would be a negative effect. If they allowed them in commercial zones and for residents, it could be a positive effect.

Just a WILD guess,
IF the Landlord IS the same "Owner" of the "old" Kroger building, he77 will freeze over before there are repairs made to ANY of the buildings in that strip mall.
Just a Useless Opinion.......

Just a Useless Opinion....... That's true, but why is he allowed to have such blighted property?...He should be forced to bring it ALL up to code, or it should be condemned... The sad thing for Streator is, TSC is willing to open there...For now..."S" or get off the pot before they change their mind...

I have never understood anything that owner has done out there other than running off businesses.
