SDAB Passport Dinner will be held on January 25th.
Enjoy German Cusine in this fundraiser sponsored by the Streator Downtown Area Businesses. The event will be held at Park Place, 406 E. Hickory St. A social hour will begin at 5 p.m., foll...owed by a six-course sit-down German dinner at 6 p.m. Tickets are $50. I agree, this is needed, but most will not have that kind of money, I think if they lowered the price a little there would be so much more money to help out.

Those who want something for nothing, the church on Bridge street has a free meal. The six course meal is only fifty dollars, support the cause, and quit complaining.

Supporting the cause is one thing...$50 for dinner, no matter how many courses are served, is entirely something else...This is not Chicago, New York, or any other major city where such extravagance may be afforded...This is Streator, where many in the community are struggling just to make ends meet...

$50 would not even get you in the door at a decent place in Chicago. The local restaurants, in streator, cost at least $10 for a modest meal and drink. Maybe the complainers, ought to stick to their condensed soup and water.

Some of that cost for the dinner is supporting the cause. $50 for a professionally cooked 6 course meal is very reasonable.
