Since they opened up part of disclosure of a persons record via sex offender to the public, why not open all criminal records disclosure to the public. Doing that would allow anyone to run a check on anyone who they suspect to be trouble. Everything including drug dealers police records and know where they are residing and who they look like through the mug shots.
Basically make a new registration site that forces all people 17 and older who committed a criminal offense to have to register and be put on these sites for life for the public to see. Meaning kids under 17 have until that time to change their ways and stop doing crime or face being put on these sites when they turn 17 as a repeated criminal offender.
One thing for sure ,drug dealers don't like to be noticed, and doing this would probably deter them from selling in Illinois.

For a ONE TIME FEE or Membership to a Number of Sites You can get a Background Check on ANYBODY. That INCLUDES everything FROM Criminal to even WHO They are Related too. NOT EVERYTHING in Life is handled to You. But it is at YOUR FINGERTIPS.

If we put child molesters and rapists behind bars for the rest of their lives, like I believe we should, there would be no need to brand them.

Has the public sex offender registry been successful? Has it lowered the number of violent sex crimes? I don't know, but my hypothesis is: it has stayed the same.
We can get rid of drug dealers and it would be incredibly easy. All we have to do is re-legalize all drugs. The addiction rates before heroin and cocaine prohibition were 1% and today after all of the nonsense, it is still at 1%
Now, I get the feeling this post is not about sex crimes or drug laws, it is about SAFETY. We know the leading cause of death in America is from prescription pills, and over half of the adult population takes a prescription regularly. Instead of prohibiting these dangerous drugs we should voluntarily make better decisions. For example, if your doctor is not asking you about your diet, exercise, and sleep schedule - there is a red flag. The doctor is treating a symptom with a pill, and not looking for the cause of the symptom.
The second leading cause of death is automobile accidents. Most wrecks are caused by speeding and by following too close to the vehicle in front of you. So, SLOW DOWN! The technology is there, in most of our cars to automatically write us tickets when we are speeding or tailgating. That may actually make us safer.

Excellent points, Guitit. Personal responsibility is more than lacking in our nation. And few seem to notice that bigger government & more laws & restrictions has done very little to impact human behaviour.
