This is a quote from the president of the NEA...this guy has brass balls. Where does he think the poor policies, curriculums, and social engineering that have put our children and grandchildren in this position came from? Now they are foisting this Common Core crap on our kids and teachers...thinking that if we all of a sudden make the work next to impossible for the kids to do...somehow or other, the teachers will be able to magically infuse their students with the basics that have been ignored for years. Pull your kids out of public education if at all possible or help your own kids pay for a private school education for your grandchildren.

When everyone is more comfortable and constantly using LOL, WTF,LMFAO, and all the other texting slang and using texting more than actual face to face or voice communication, I can see why people are lacking in some of these areas. Capitalization, punctuation and proper sentence structure is rapidly becoming a lost art. Even if kids are taught all this in school, as soon as they are out, they revert back to the easy way.

Teachers are catching the brunt of the blame for the students' poor performances, but are simply the recipients of curriculums mandated by politicians and wackoffs writing PHDs. That goes for this new brand of educational dogsh!t...the Common Core Standards...another attempt at Utopia by educational progressives who jump on whatever money-cow bandwagon happens to be driving by.

This has been going on for a long time. I recently saw a test in the early 1900's that MANY wouldn't have been able to pass. It was HS test, but many times back then, Children ALL went to ONE school!

I suspect it's too late to change things at this point...better to just try and control the number of wackoffs?

This quote from Williamson Evers (1998) serves the purpose for my argument in detailing what has almost NEVER gone on in our classrooms for 50 years or more.

I still think the progressives assault on what used to be the staple of our society-the "nuclear family"-is as much to blame as the ineptness of some of our teachers.......

I suspect it's too late to change things at this point...better to just try and control the number of wackoffs? Are you trying to be funny? Check out this little factoid promoted in many American schools by the "wackoffs": Teachers shouldn't have the right to decide whether or not students master basic math w/o an effing calculator...where's the oversight from above...or is this particular decision okay with everybody?
