It looks like things got pretty crazy. I didn't know that some of them could move like that.

Why, what's wrong with YouTube? The pictures were all taken from the internet. I just moved them from one spot to another, and had a little fun with them. It's not like it's any type of negative situation, or like it hasn't been done many times with many political figures.

I hope that none of our council members are truly appalled by the video and see it as just a bit of holiday cheer.
In today's video age, people have to expect that their images can be captured and used, I think that applies even more so to elected officials.
Merry Christmas everyone and enjoy the holiday parties (within reason) and please stay safe.

Not to be a stick in the mud, but by posting the pic without the photographers persmission, I believe you are in violation of copyright laws. With the use of internet and the ease of grabbing pics, there has been a significant increase in attempted copyright prosecutions. Getty images has been known to send out letters claiming unlawfully use of their pics, even if they arent watermarked, but are willing to settle for the cost of fair use of the photo. Many times they try to charge hundreds of dollars. They have a program that searches websites for pics. The suggestion is, if you dont take the pic yourself, you should refrain from using it, and you should never use it on a site that promotes your business.

I agree that the person taking the picture owns the rights to the image, however sharing of all types of materials has become very common on the internet and most do not mind their material being used for non commercial uses. With internet advancements, it has become possible for owners to protect images that they deem valuable and charge for their use. These were taken by the Times and uploaded to the internet without that protection. Many companies make things like this available on the internet because searches for them can bring traffic to their site, creating value for them. I'll try to ask how they feel about some of their images being used by a customer to spread some holiday cheer. I doubt I'll get a cease and desist letter.

From The Times website: Question: Do you hold the copyrights to your images? Answer: All copyrights are owned and controlled by myCapture's partners. Question: Can I download the images? Answer: If a digital download is offered on the pricing sheet than it is available for purchase. If it is not listed than this affiliate does not sell digital copies of their photos. Question: Can the photos be used commercially? (advertising, promotional materials, etc.) Answer: Any commercial usage must be approved by the individual publications first. For information on obtaining commercial/publication permission of a photograph please contact the publication. This website is owned and operated by myCapture. I am not surprised, they have protected their rights to control their product. I still doubt that they will be too worried about a customer using some images to spread some holiday cheer.
