Anyone know when it was taken down? I saw a photo of this church in a 1958 issue of the Times Press. I remember having read somewhere that Ralph Plumb belonged to this congregation.

That one is a bit before my time. I vaguely remember a church where Bulldogs is at. I remember that Sandy's(predecessor to Hardees) came before McDonald's to town. Was Sandy's our first fast food chain in town? I know we had A&W(Woodys) and Dog & Suds, but they were both drive-in chains. I remember that Pontiac had a Mr. Quicks before we had Sandy's. It's kind of too bad that McDonalds has wiped out all the local competition. It seems like Wal-Mart is doing the same to retailers too. Anyway, back on topic, that Church was mostly before my time, sorry Alton. According to Streator: 125 Years a Celebration, this congregation merged with Park Presbyterian in 1967. The old mainline churches were hitting the skids even back in those days.

What business was at the location of the veterinarian shop, on Bloomington Street? That was Dixie's old location. Drive-in. It was Morkey's Bar(?) after Dixies & before the vets too.
