you only really get snOed in every 20 or 30 years lol...can't tell anyone that though
usually you're only stuck for a day or so until you get plowed out
last time I was stuck was back in 79, for about 3 days...just lucky the power didn't go out...0 outside after the snO

Open 24 hours I can drive by a couple times and wait if I really need to. I usually do wait till late if the parking lots full aaanyhow.. . Five inches with wind could cause trouble though ..

A WEATHER DISTURBANCE IS EXPECTED TO SPREAD SNOW ACROSS PORTIONS OF WEST CENTRAL ILLINOIS BY LATE FRIDAY AFTERNOON. THE SNOW WILL THEN SPREAD EAST NORTHEASTWARD ACROSS MOST OF NORTHERN ILLINOIS AND NORTHWESTERN INDIANA FRIDAY NIGHT AND CONTINUE INTO SATURDAY. THERE ARE STILL SOME UNCERTAINTIES ON WHERE THE HEAVIEST SNOW WILL FALL. HOWEVER...AT THE PRESENT TIME IT APPEARS THE AREA MOST SUSCEPTIBLE TO THE HEAVIEST SNOWFALL ARE AREAS SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 80. SNOWFALL RATES IN THESE AREAS COULD RANGE BETWEEN A HALF INCH TO ONE INCH PER HOUR FOR A SHORT PERIOD FRIDAY EVENING. TOTAL SNOWFALL AMOUNTS ARE FORECAST TO RANGE FROM 3 TO 6 INCHES SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 80...TO 2 TO 3 INCHES ACROSS THE CHICAGO METRO AREA BY EARLY SATURDAY. ANYONE PLANNING TRAVEL ACROSS THE AREA FRIDAY NIGHT OR SATURDAY SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR PERIODS OF SNOW...WHICH WILL LIKELY REDUCE VISIBILITIES AND RESULT IN SNOW COVERED ROADS.
