My roof is leaking. Anyone know a roofer off work for the season that can take a peak at ut and maybe do a small repair job?

Contact your ins agent and have an ins adjuster come out and look at it. Everyone in the s/se side of Streator has hail damage from the tornado that passed by us by 6 miles. Being that close ,there was hail running from 2"to3"+ in diameter. I hope the city can help people with assistance for people whose insurance doesn't cover hail damage to pay to replace their roofs.

rocket, Why would the taxpayer pay for roofs of people that have no insurance? Next, you will want the taxpayer to pay for gasoline and insurance on their car(s). They taxpayer already funds link, food stamps, cell phones for the deadbeats. Why would a deadbeat worry about an roof anyway ? They probably are getting a rent subsidy or free housing.

I am talking about home owners. Not the people you speak of.

homeowners insurance should cover hail damage. If someone doesn't have insurance, why should the city (taxpayers) pay for it??

rocket, let the homeowner, as you say, pay for his or her own hail coverage. What else can you think of for the taxpayer to fund? Are you of supporter of obamacare, too?

I had a shingled roof installed rated SH. Good for seveve hail.
Once I had a roof 20 years old inspected because I wanted to install a new roof and the roofing contractor found hail damage. My insurance adjustor told me they'd pay for a new roof. I felt bad because it was ready to be replaced anyway.
Now I notice my deductible went up from $500 to $1,000. I can't blame in insurance company. They are in business to make money.
Everyone in Streator will help pay for the tornado damage in Washington and Coal City, Frankfort next year with high insurance premiums. That's what happened when there are alot of claims.

In Texas, I lived in the "Hail Capital". Eventually, the Ins. Cos. spread enough money around the legislature so that instead of replacing a hail damaged roof, the Ins. Cos. only pay a percentage. i.e A 20 year roof damaged at 10 years will only get 50% of the money needed to replace the roof. Just another reason why I left and came back home.

I SHOULD have got metal. I SHOULD have got metal. Mine is less then 10 years old and lo and behold I got a hole in it. I know, I know, all that wind and hail, it could have been worse. It didn't lift a shingle....it's a freakin' hole. I have no idea how it punched a hole in the shingle and through the roof. I need a patch job too. I'd check he attic for debris and/or further damage.
