to the group that walked away from a fight on Saturday night.
A girl took a punch to the face on Vermillion St. She turned away, joined her group and started to leave. A group of guys that stayed at the bar, started ripping their clothes off to get ready for a brawl, and started going after and taunting the group that was leaving.
The group of responsible people that seemed to have been out to have a good time and not a street brawl just kept going though.
I didn't see any black people involved, but the group that stayed at the bar used a derogatory term telling the others to go back to the ghetto. I don't know if they are from a ghetto or not, but they sure had more class than the people at the bar.
A little while later there was a fight in front of the bar.
If there was any interest from the bar owner to cut down on these negative incidents, I would think that they would have someone paying attention to what goes on and make the trouble makers leave, or call police. However, I don't think there is such an interest.
I don't think anyone fell, hit their head, and died this time. I also don't think that anyone was taken away in a police car, so they will probably be back next weekend for more street brawling.
It is nice to know though that there are some people with some class that are out for something other than street brawls. Kudos to them.

The city should have put the red light cameras directed to your favorite bar instead of the city park.

I don't think many people would spend their hard earned money on something as stupid as drunks fighting and urinating in our streets. The videos could be helpful in marketing change though. Maybe some video releases at election time to make sure voters remember what is allowed to go on downtown. I'd rather be talking about how our leaders changed and have cleaned things up, but it isn't looking like they have even started that.
