Are they lacking members? They got 13days to get the park done and the stuff is still sitting there in the park since last weekend and no one around putting them up yet. They should have started last weekend. Is the city deciding to not allow xmas decorations in the park due to that incident with the religious sign in the park from the atheist group at easter time?

I saw several of them in the park this morning working hard. I'm sure they could use some more help though. I'll let you know if I see them again tomorrow morning and let you know so you can head over to help if you want. Thank You Light Up Streator.

Light up Streator is on the 30th, today is the 9th. Where are you coming up with only 13 days? By my calculations that leaves 21 days.

You say the dumbest things. Now, why would they have started taking them to the park if they weren't going to be able to put them up? I saw them working on them today. Why don't YOU go volunteer and help them??

I hope they do not use the gaudy mismatched decorations, from last year. They look like a hodgepodge of second hand junk , from the second hand stores. Ottawa has the nicest display, by far. If someone is going to do the decorating, do it right or not at all.

Let me know if you need help.

Some people do not like bright buildings, I do not like gaudy , old , non matching colored, lights and decorations. Maybe, the council could pass an ordinance that prohibits this kind if nuisance. Kind of like, the sign ordinance, the tall weed, and the snow on public sidewalks ordinances. Any thoughts wet Wiley?

I disagree about the lights. I think city park always looks absolutely beautiful with all the light decorations they put up every year. I went to the Ottawa one last year after a few were saying they were better... and I was very disappointed. Didn't think much of their park lights. Very minimal.

A lot of gaudy, does not make the park better. Good taste and color co-ordination go a long way. Leave it to professional decorators and people who are not color blind.
