It's nice to see the city talking openly about some economic development.
I know that city leaders are always working to bring in jobs, etc. It's just not everything can be talked about for many different reasons.
The railroads are the best asset this city has. It's like having an interstate exit right in Streator, but it's not an interstate, it's railroad tracks. That hub just outside the city that takes most train traffic west of the Mississippi River is something that the city has to capitalize on.
You can talk about emergency vehicles needing to get to people That isn't really a problem with the viaduct or heading down other streets where there are no trains. We cannot look at train traffic like it is a nuisance. When you hear a train blowing it's whistle in Streator we should smile and look at it as $$$$ for the town!
We just need the city to keep working on finding ways to use the railway to make us money!
