There were two Courtney's I believe that played in the majors. One of them was a catcher for Washington that caught (I think) the ball you were talking about MM. I was a youngster when he did it. Might have hurt his hand.........Anybody figure out the fastest pitch yet?

I know some old timer CAUGHT a ball tossed out an observation window on top of the Washington Monument. That was 555 ft tall. That baby had to be moving....... Whether it was 555 ft or 5000 ft, the terminal velocity of a baseball is around 95 mph give or take a little based on atmospheric conditions.

74?.......JR Richard? He threw SMOKE and was coming into his own right about then. Of course there is the old fireballer himself Nolan Ryan. And the winner is.... Nolan Ryan with a 108.1 MPH reading according to the doppler laser radar readings that were used in 1974. The Ryan Express was really bringing the heat that night in 1974, throwing the fastest pitch ever recorded in a Major League Baseball game. Bob Feller is second at 107.6 MPH in.........1946! " Rapid Robert" must have been something to see. I don't know how they were able to measure it so long ago.

Mom asked me to post this. Which U.S. President made out and official UFO report and said he would never laugh at anyone who did this again? Post WWII Prez. I am pretty sure Carter had filed a report. I think Reagan reported seeing one too, although not a written report. My guess is that Carter was in the Navy intel at the time. But he and many others w/ him saw a saucer doing some crazy stuff.
