Spring Lake is my favorite place. They are working so hard out there to make things beautiful again after the flood.. You can now get a free map of Spring Lake showing the different trails as well as a free map of Streator. Front desk. City Hall.

I love seeing all of the little uniformed football players out there practicing this time of year around town with the Dads volunteering as coaches. Don't forget Engle Lane! There is a lot of talented local people who perform there. There's a lot of good people in this town.

Spring Lake is my favorite place. They are working so hard out there to make things beautiful again after the flood. Dont be afraid to stand for what you believe in, even if that means standing alone..
Thank you, everyone, for your compliments of Spring Lake! There is still a lot of work to do at Spring Lake and fewer and fewer regular volunteers to help out. It takes many, many volunteer manhours to keep it looking good. Trimming trails, weeding, spraying poison ivy, cutting up downed trees, pruning, picking up litter left by park visitors. The list goes on and on. It's never ending. The city cuts the grass every few weeks and maintains the porta potties. That helps. We could sure use a couple more people to help out on a weekly basis. A couple of hard working folks would make a big difference. If you know of anyone that would be interested in volunteering their time, message me.
I'm also really surprised at how difficult it is to get "resident hosts" to set up their hard topped camper and stay out there for a month or more at a time during May thru October. Free electricity, water, sewer and an abundance of wild life. They advertise every year, but no one applies.
Oh, by the way, it's obvious that iluvstreator !!

The Streatorland Historical Society Museum on S. Vermillion is another of our great assets. We had friends from out of state that just loved the hours we spent in there,as well as the Weber House.

I haven't seen one specifically in Streator but the surrounding areas. I LOVE seeing the wild turkey's. Just have never been fortunate enough to hit one around Thanksgiving lol.

There used to be a lot of them over between the day care and country club. I've seen deer there lately, but no turkeys.
