Heard that the Catholic parish in Streator bought the house at the southwest corner of Bloomington and Livingston streets. Wonder what's going on?

the best answer to this question would come from the diocese not a forum.

the best answer to this question would come from the diocese not a forum. Sad to say, I doubt the diocese would tell the truth!!! I am willing to bet you could get more truth here than from them.

I hope that it is not going to be a "safe house" for wrongly accused priests.

Just told last night that they've asked some parishioners to volunteer to do some cleaning in preparation of the school's principal moving into the house. They aren't going to do any major renovations, just cleaning to get it ready for the principal. I think it's a great idea to have the principal live right next door to the school.

I met the people that lived there back in the 50's. They left to buy my Dad's house.

So...if they bought "another" house, then what was the first one, prior too? M St. Anthony's bought three houses back in the 2000s. I guess the thread title is misleading, as the merged parish has bought only one house so far.

Just read this on FB: "The house by the school was given to the parish by the hospital. It is being renovated and the school principal is moving into it."
