I would imagine its the same as anything. Those parents that chose to homeschool for the betterment of their child, most likely succeed in developing successful children. Those that are just taking advantage for whatever reason, the child most likely suffers. I personally would have to give it serious consideration, and it would have to be my last resort, as I am well aware that I still have much to learn in this world. I would feel that my child was lacking if they only had me as a teacher. But, if for some reason their education was being hindered, I would certainly home school them. I would just have to do much research, and probably drive myself crazy worrying that I wasn't covering everything. So, for those that take this on, you have my respect.

And I believe that there are zero statistics concerning homeschool nightmares or an inclination or motivation at all for the proponents of homeschooling to either acknowledge or identify the homeschool failures. It's NOT an option or desire for the vast majority of households. Pick your poison and deal with the shortcomings and advantages of whatever schooling you wish - home, private, or public...there exists successes and failures for all types. I seriously doubt that there are "zero" studies of home schooling failures. If that were the case how would all of you have such an abundance of negative facts concerning the homeschooled? I fully agree with your last line in the above quote, Mr. Butterbean.
