This ad must be what that good old boy, mayor, must be referring to, when he implies, Crimetown is on the move. Remember to aim low, you will never be disappointed!

This is a job. And for someone, it should be a perfect fit. Like the ad says. A mom. Maybe one that her last child at home started school, and she wants to work. But also wants to get her kids off to school, and be home before they get home from school. Or that college student that has classes in the afternoon. Or a stay at home mom who's child just left for college, and just wants part time. Or someone that works part time somewhere else, and needs more hours. For any of the above, this could be just what they're looking for. Why so negative an attitude when someone took the time to pass this on?

The mayor, city council, and chamber of commerce try to paint a rosy, positive image of the streator area. In reality, it is a crime ridden, run down, ghost of an image city. Quit living on an image of a town, 50 years ago. No factories, high taxes, poor schools, and a section 8 population. This is a town on its way to being another Detroit.

Gonna be lonely there at lunch time then. They usually seem to have a good crowd when I get lunch there. Not the level of McDonalds, mind you, but at least 10 people inside and 4 or 5 cars in the drive thru

When they finally decided to do it, they were decades behind most other high schools their size in America in doing so.

What was wrong with getting out of the school for a while to clear your head and maybe relax for 45 minutes or so?

they don't have 43 minute lunch periods. They probably reused the ad from when the school campus was still opened. Other people do go there to eat besides teenagers.

I always wondered if it was partially motivated by privatization of the school lunch. The lunch service COMPANY now has a captive audience with no choice but to stay. I am sure that in turn makes a more lucrative contract to the School. You're probably right BD. I know at my place of business, if my "patrons" could leave and eat elsewhere, they certainly would.

I think they should have open campus and be able to jaywalk across Bloomington Street. They also need to have a cigarette or two, and maybe a "nooner". Not necessarily, in that order.
