Have you checked the lost and found? Maybe nobody neglected it. When cats go missing I always fear that they are trapped in someones garage. Maybe this was the case as to why it was so thin. You should check to see if it matches any that were lost. Can you post a picture?

Wow I would, but we have one now. The grandkids have been found to be allergic to cats & they can't come over now as it is. We're just biding our time until this cat is gone I love cats

I'm just kind of hoping that they took in someone elses cat and we can reunite. Its heart breaking wondering when you find a stray animal, what their life was like before and if they think about it. Now I got myself all choaked up. Or when you adopt one thats parents have passed away.
