I do believe Stephen Tyler messed up the words to the National Anthem. I had closed captions on, and they left out the words he messed up.
editted for exclamation marks. I was not sure at first.

Doesn't surprise me. I was busy putting Little FM down for a nap, so I didn't see it all. What I did see of it, his singing was horrible.

Taken from a facebook friend' When Francis Scott Key pend the poem that later was adopted by Congress as the first official national anthem of the United States in 1931. When a song was adopted by the country we call home, a certain respect should always prevail when given the great honor to sing this song. I believe from this day forward who will be chosen to sing our national anthem will be under great scrutiny. Many are upset by Steven Tylers performance today. No reason for our National Anthem to be sung this way. www.heraldsun.com.au/entertainment/confidential/rock-veteran-steven-tyler-accused-of-butchering-us-national-anthem/story-e6frf96o-1226251244287 You see the difference is a thing called respect. This is not the time to make our National Anthem into anything other than what it is and has been. Not the time for a singer to make it their own. I believe you disrespect every one who fought and gave up their life to defend this country and our freedoms. I believe I need to speak up for all of those who lost their life defending this Country. High school foot ball players get it why cant rock stars? They raise their helmets in HONOR for all who have fought for this country. Ask the family of this Soldier what they think....Cpl. Joseph D. Logan, 22, of Willis has been identified as one of the six Marines lost in Afghanistan Thursday evening. According to the Department of Defense, six Marines from the Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 363 were killed during combat operations. Now you tell me why Steven Tyler performance today was acceptable. No never mind, I don't care what you think. He was wrong. .

I know, tosh. Sad, isn't it? Someone just bumped the thread I made on the general board a while back on this subject. Most people feel like I am overreacting about it.

That is why I bumped, this one, too. Did you check out the 'gang ' link, posted? And some think THAT is funny, too.

Agreed, tosh. No matter what you think of our president, using his face as target practice is not a cool thing to do. I am not an Obama fan by any means, but I wouldn't go that far. I think that sheriff will be in some serious trouble. I think they'll make an example of him.

I was very impressed with Stephen Tylers rendition. Compare it with his style, and you will see, he took it seriously. I wondered how it was going to be done. And I think he gave a respectful performance. Ask the servicemen who are Tyler fans. I think everyone was waiting for him to screw up because of his style and personality. I saw someone post his performance, and most of the comments thought he did a good job, also. What is a respectful rendition? He stood still and sang it without dragging every word out.
I thought that some of the kids in the chorus behind Kelly Clarkson had some pretty stupidly animated expressions on their faces, but I didn't think they were trying to be disrespectful. It's the way chorus groups sing. Did you think that was disrespectful?
