Could be the economy,or could be that parents feel that society isn't safe anymore or maybe people are no longer interested in Halloween, which could be why lesser people are participating in trick or treating.

oooh I love popcorn balls, fresh made not the dry hard ones in the store. When I was a kid there were some older people that always handed out the same thing so we always looked forward to the lady that made popcorn balls. Shame now that in the last 15 + years it because worrisome to accept homemade stuff from people you didn't know well. even the store bought candy I always checked each piece carefully when the kids were little.

Popcorn balls ya buy at supermarkets are made with corn syrup not marshmallow, that's why they're hard. I put my name address on the package but where I live usually its just the people who live in the area and know everything about each other and that is pry an understatement. Last year one woman brought her toddler three times and I know he was too young to eat 'em. I didn't mind at all, actually made me feel good knowing they were that good.

btw last year I conned my eldest daughter to make the popcorn balls so I can't take credit for the taste. She made them at home and when she brought them she said never again, those are hell to make...I just laughed I knew that when I asked her to make ' em

lol yeah, this was an old thread dug up from the past. I think whoever is running the board needs to do some housecleaning and delete threads from more than a year ago
