I like the trick or treating when the downtown stores has it. That is such a nice thing. I knew of a nursing home that had trunk or treat on halloween so the residents could see the treaters. That also might be a thought for the living assisted places and or churches to do on halloween. What is "trunk or treat"?

Decorate the truncks of the cars or back of the vans and go from car to car for the treats like you would house to house. It's just a different way of doing trick or treating. One of the nursing homes that my wife worked at had staff members decorate their trunks while the residents handed out the treats to the kids. I just thought it was a neat idea, to though out and maybe even churches could have their members do this.

I always took my kids around to relatives. Then our neighborhood. So they could show off their costumes to those we knew. It was always a fun night. Wow, time flies. Us too. I don't think it's as much fun knocking on random stranger's doors. That's because you never came to my house......... ;D ;D ;D ;D

Last year we took my son to our parents house and a couple friends houses.
This year we might do a little more. It depends on the weather

Streator always does trick or treat on Halloween night... doesn't matter what day it lands on. We are going to have some friends over with their daughter for dinner & then go to a few relatives and a couple houses we know do really neat things on halloween and then home we go.

I take my daughter out trick or treating but it seems fewer and fewer homes are handing out candy for kids so its hard for her to get the most out of it unless we drive to a neighborhood that has a lot of houses lit up. Then we jump out of our car and I walk up and down the streets with her. But finding neighborhoods like that is getting more and more difficult.

You can also go to Central Church of Christ. They have a fall fest every Halloween. They have "trunk or treating", and fun games and yes, lots of candy.
