Such a sad loss of life. To hear of the death of a child is ever so much more of a tragedy. May God bring comfort to this family and console them during their time of grief.

You know they just had something on this same scenario on the news yesterday morning.....I think the Today Show but not sure! They had a picture of a young kid on a weight bench trying to lift and they were making the point of how dangerous it was!
Wether there is adult supervison or not, kids should not be allowed around objects that are so readily accessable to them at a minutes notice. What looks safe isn't always safe. What a sad loss.

Another thing that I see alot of kids do that just scares me to no end is climbing on the bottom dresser drawer. I wonder how many children have died from the dresser being pulled on top of them.
I think if my kids were young today, I'd have everything nailed to the walls.

that happened to my son when he was little. he opened all dresser drawers and the dresser tipped over and the tv came down and hit him on head. fortunately the cable didnt come out of wall so the tv didnt fall on top of him nor did the dresser thankfully. then, the tv came down closer to floor on tv stand. and once when he was little he came out to me and said he opened his window i said no i opened it. he said he did. i went in and he pushed the screen out. we live on second floor. another thankful instance that he didnt go out that open window after pushing screen out. from then on i only opened top part of window as he couldnt reach. unfortunately you live and learn w/ kids. i was fortunate that both instances werent serious.
