I just noticed that the old Dixies pizza place is empty again. Alfanos pizza closed the doors tonight. Just FYI. Seems like noone can make it in that building. Too bad.

Dixies actually expanded from that building. They were doing well enough that they needed more space.

if your talking about the place across from mcdonalds, there are lot of reasons why that building cannot make it.one is the location,2nd is the traffic and parking 3rd is not enough space to eat indoors. i think the main problem is that such a small business cannot compete with mcdonalds sitting next to it.

JOES PIZZA: not even close to the amount of traffic Alfonso's got, almost zero parking, and zero indoor dining. WINNING! We were going to eat at Alfonso's on Sunday...but we got Anna's instead. Darn.

Joe's Stationhouse Pizza is the best pizza in Streator. My grandkids love it. I have loved it since the original pizza maker in the 1960's came to Streator from Sicily Italy. The original man was the father of Sam's Pizza in Ottawa. Later the Ottawa Brother Joe started selling pizza until it closed and a new owner re-opened the pizza place with the original recipe.
The original Pizza place was in the building where Dixie's Pizza is today and was called Sammy's Pizza and donut Shop. A large cheese and sausage was $5. He always said 20 minutins.
As far as the closed place, I would like to see Taco Bell go back into that building.

I dont wish any business to close, but I wouldnt order from there anymore and if others were treated the same way I was I can understand why they closed. On more than one occasion I got really bad/poorly prepared food, and yes I did call and complain and was told oh well basically. I made the mistake of thinking it was just an off night and someone didnt know what they were doing, inexperienced cook, etc., so I made the mistake of ordering again with pretty much the same results. Which really sucks, as I really enjoyed their food/pizza when they 1st opened and ordered from there frequently.

I agree with Vikesfan. Their food was ok but their customer service was completely lacking. I called once with a complaint and the woman was so rude with me it was unbelievable.

We only ordered pizza from there once. We did like their pizza but I am a fan of Joe's Stationhouse pizza.
