on Monday morning we noticed my 8 year old sons bike was stolen. It is a red next with flames on it. If any body sees it please let me know. He is very upset and wants it back. It is pretty bad when these people have to steal from a 8 year old

I had a little girl spend the night Sat. night. Her mother called to tell her someone had cut the chain and stolen her bike. St. Anthony area.

it use to be kids had respect for others property. Agreed Dive, but a lot of parents anymore just don't care what their kids do. If my daughter was ever to bring home a bike that I KNOW I didn't buy her she would be marching her little butt right back up to where she stole it and apologizing to the kid, and the parents.

The SPD has a bike registration form that I would highly suggest all of you parents register your children's as well as your bikes with them. At least they used to have this service. That way "proof" of ownership is recorded with the serial number. Speaking of stolen bikes when I walked by the hospital the other day I noticed that there was a bike thrown down in the creek bed by Butternut Bread. This bike looked fairly new, I'm not sure if it was a mountain bike or one with gears.....but it was a larger bike. Sometimes I wonder if these yahoos roaming the streets of a night just don't hijack a bike to ride......probably to their next IDK drug pick - up , drop off or house their casing.......ppffttt. M

my son just got a new bike for his bday, and of course someone tried to steal it, but he didnt realize someone WAS home. got caught, called cops, and the mom came and apologized. the sad thing is the other kid who was twice his age was daring him to do it, and took his bike. if i were his mother i wouldnt be letting him hang around with hoodlums and if he is going to then dont let him leave the house! its crappy u cant leave anything out, even at NOON!!!

my dad would have beat my butt if i brought something home that i didnt own. Not making excuses for hoodlums,,But a lot of these children probably don't have dads.....Or at least dads who care........

I sure an sorry for all these youngsters having their bikes stolen. It's hard to believe I came from a neighborhood where NOBODY locked their doors, day or night. That's been over 50+ yrs. ago. Now every night before I go to bed, I have a ritual to make sure the house is buttoned up and everything looks normal inside and outside. Unfortunately we Pay for this feeling of security with High Electric bills so we can feel a little safer at night. cp/
