So what’s wrong with this? HMMMMMM... WOKE supporters find PLENTY "wrong" with everyone and everything under the sun and everyone is supposed to go along with everything the WOKE say, do, and promote.
If this kid wanted to work at the counter of my hardware store in this outfit...would it be "wrong" if I sent him home to change in order to work for me?Define "wrong" -

No problem...I'd put it on an 8x10 handout. No makeup on men, either. It's MY store. You don't have a RIGHT to work for me. One of my daughters was a HOOTERS waitress. The rule book was 1/4" thick.

This kid was going to prom. Not work. And he was covered appropriately. No thigh high slits, not backless or necklines cut as low as waistline and skirts just under buttocks. And just as covered as a tux. Men in Scotland where kilts with blazers. This kid kept it tasteful, keeping body parts covered. No one is suggesting anyone be made to dress like him. But I see no reason to ridicule him. How about starting a thread about the skimpy dresses allowed at proms across the nation.

Maybe NOT "ridicule" or harassment, but if this poor guy's choice of prom attire doesn't deserve a "You've GOT to be kidding me," what does? Even being checked out at a store by a male cashier with lipstick, peircings, and rainbow hair is not uncommon these days. No apologies from me in thinking that it's weird. Gotta' watch the "Anything Goes Syndrome." Things can turn really dicey in a society when norms disintegrate. {The word "norms" is a long dicussion in itself, of course.}

Is there a father in the picture? I don’t buy the happiness part of this.Looks more like something to try to get some attention to me.. He looks pretty happy, confident and comfortable to me. That usually is nurtured in a loving home. When he starts posing with guns pointed at the camera and building bombs instead of sewing well tailored items of clothing then maybe we should worry about him. I think it’s pretty d**n refreshing to see a young kid smiling instead of the anger shown by so many youth. And if he designed and made that, then maybe we’ll be seeing him with his own fashion house in a few years. Or maybe he aspires to design for the theater. I see success in his future whatever his dreams are, because if he can be that confident in the face of the crap thrown at him here alone, then he’ll go far.

You surmise that he is happy and "nurtured" and that I am throwing "crap" at him instead of noting his desire for attention.
You've got a point and you're welcome to it. I just advise being more circumspect, cautious, and less lavish with praise when supporting "être différent".

And yes, from THIS picture, he looks happy. His smile is wide and natural and eyes are clear. His body language is relaxed. He looks more relaxed in his attire than all the prom pics I saw this season. And his looks better tailored to him than any of the recent pics I’ve seen of Angela Jolies daughters who’ve walked the red carpet with her. And I’m sure they have access to great seamstresses. His makeup is flawless, not clownish, so he appears to care about his appearance. Going only from this one pic, that’s what it shows to me. And I’ve got 3 daughters who’ve dressed for proms, homecomings, as brides, maid of honors, bridesmaids. And grands who’ve worn tuxes and suits (boys) and formal gowns (girl). My oldest is and always has been fashion conscious. So I have experience recognizing how comfortable someone is when they’ve found ’the’ dress, vs having to wear something as say, a bridesmaid. I’m not seeing anything fake in this kid. Maybe you’ve seen other pics online to come to your conclusions. I’ve not. Just this one. He’s even chosen the appropriate ’slip’ (undergarment) to wear under the dress.

Hmmm. I think that should have been maids of honor, not maid of honors. 🤔

I will never be totally onboard with this as I find it odd. But yes their are many things young adults could do that are much worse than this.

Singers, actors, models, dancers, spelling bee participants, math teams, speech and debate teams, chess players, the kid that’s first to climb to the top of the playground equipment in kindergarten.
Anyone of us who post on social media for others to read our thoughts seek the attention of others. 🤷🏻♀️
