there is a whole lot more cases of flu going around which contributes to the overwhelming death total. the coronavirus has infected a smaller group but has a higher death toll as compared to the regular flu that is going around. some how the democrats and the media will find a way to blame trump. there are 2 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Mexico right now. i can see the virus at some point infecting many in Mexico because of the lack of hygiene practices in that country.

it seems like the majority of people over 50 and others with a compromised immune system die from it. it looks like lots in streator should worry since many are sick and old in town.

Yes, the media has certainly upped their ratings by encouraging increased fear. But. People. We still have our own common sense and ability to reason.
China certainly has extremely high numbers of contracture and resulting deaths. They also have public conditions and government controlled health care.
The other confined incidence as an example is the Diamond Princes. 3711 crew and passengers were confined to that ship. The passengers weren’t notified until 48-72 hours (I think I read 72, but you can look it up if you need to) Even after the quarantine, crew members still ate together in mess hall. Passengers were quickly allowed to wander the decks with requests to stay 6 ft away from one another 🙄. 705 crew and passengers have tested positive. That’s 18.99% of the 3711. SIX have passed away. That’s 0.85% Of those 6, at least 4 were in their 80s. The most vulnerable is the elderly, children and immuno compromised. Since it’s a cruise ship, I imagine a high number of the passengers were elderly. Us old folks like to cruise 🤷🏻♀️ Or honeymooners, who are naturally going to be swapping saliva. A lot. Yet, the death toll is at 0.85%. The people who were isolated in tight quarters haven’t seen the results of those in China. And let’s watch the couple hundred that were evacuated with 14 who tested positive. So far, no deaths there. Yet, in Iran, the first case died the day they tested positive, and many fell like dominos immediately there.
If this continues to show this pattern, with high percentages of death in certain countries and stay low in others like the US, I’d say that’s a reason to question government involved healthcare
Review: 3,711 passengers. 705 positive for coronavirus 6 deaths 18.99% contractural rate 0.85% mortality rate
Stay calm. And wash your hands.

About 5 weeks ago, we were invited to appetizers, & games, followed by pizza & dessert in the suburbs. We hadn’t seen one of the couples in several months. As conversation developed, they told us they’d only been back home for, almost, 2 weeks. They had been in China, now at the point when we were talking, information about the virus had just made its way into the news. Then they told us their last stop prior to returning home had been to attend a festival in the very city (Woo Han I think) where the outbreak had first occurred.
The traveling couple (retirees), the other couple (in their 60’’s) & me & Mr R. both over 21, after 5 weeks are all, seemingly, well. We used common utensils to serve appetizers & desserts, & Mr. R. shook their hands (I am normally a bit overly cautious or plain neurotic your choice).
My reasoning being, normal American hygiene, (& hand sanitizer,) when handling food & interacting with others seems to have been smart for we 6 senior citizens.
I am glad we have moved from basketball to baseball season, fresh air & lots of room, much more comfortable for me, for a great many reasons!
Use common sense & keep your hands away from all orifices, unless you have washed carefully!! (Don’t forget to sing the entire ABC song when scrubbing your hands)
Stay healthy ❤️

Yes. Hand hygiene is NOT stick your fingers under the faucet, shake and go. Be honest. We’ve all seen that move a time or two in a public restroom. Or those that head straight for the door after leaving the stall.
Plenty of soap, friction, front, back, between fingers and nails. Then don’t screw it all up by touching the faucets. Grab a paper towel and use it to turn the faucet off! Use it to open the door, too. Most restrooms are now placing the waste can by the door for this reason.

(Don’t forget to sing the entire ABC song when scrubbing your hands) Stay healthy ❤️ When I was a Brownie leader I invited the health educator from the County Health Department to do a presentation on hand washing at our troop meeting held at my house. Each girl washed her hands afterwards and then put on some solution that would show up under black light. Then they washed their hands again. They were surprised by how much they missed when the black light was used on them. I assume everyone doesn’t wash their hands and act accordingly. 😂 If I had a dollar for each time I washed mine, I would be rich.

Young and old. Grab the craft glow in dark neon paint in craft isle. It’s like $3. Orange works very well and then can be used at Halloween for crafting. Use it like soap, a little dab in Palm, ‘lather’ in hands. Wash as normally do, then turn light off to check for glow. Teachers could use this in classes. Kids love experiments

Rocket, it has already been moving back on account of Trump............. People, not going to throw this out there as a panic inducer, but we just reported the first case on the east coast, Vermont perhaps? Anyway, person had just come from Italy. No matter how we do this, unless we shut off all International travel, we are gonna get dinged. As others have said, just use the best precautions you can. Frankly I am shocked at people still taking cruises or flying Internationally on Vacation. It just isn't worth the risk right now.
