Hey Willy, what's up with all the attention on the money losing golf course lately? Are you trying to get more people to feel better about paying more in taxes to support your course by having so many articles about it in the newspaper?
When was it that City employees "were the least paid people around"? Didn't we just hire an old City Manager (without shopping around for a new up and coming one that might work for less) at the top end of the pay scale for communities our size? Don't our City workers with all their other benefits make much more than their private sector counterparts? Do they get paid $70,000.00 a year just to cut the grass at Anderson Fields, an expense that would still exist if it were opened up like the other parks for use by a wider group of people? Haven't our City leaders heard about the national decline of golf participation? You don't read about the golf industry setting new participation records like the theatre industry did a couple of months ago, do you? Isn't it a shame that we can't even support one theatre?
Gee, I probably wouldn't even worry about our City employees getting some free green time, if all of their jobs were getting done better. Why should we give more benefits to some Council Members who write ridiculous ordinances such as the one requiring property owners to remove "all" the snow from the sidewalk? When a Building Inspector calls me threatening to give me a fine for not getting a permit for a 4' fence that doesn't even require a permit, it doesn't put me in the mood to have to pay for his leisure entertainment.
There are two other courses in the area, instead of dumping so much into Anderson Fields, maybe our City should start putting more support behind creating better conditions so that we might be able to have some different types of leisure entertainment for the increasing numbers of people who don't golf, don't you think?

Sorry dog, I corrected my post to be more specific to say golf participation. You aren't trying to imply that they are going to try to sell admission to come watch Willy play golf on his taxpayer supported course, are you? Is that why we pay so many tax increases to support the course for, so that we have the privilege of watching our City leaders play on our dime?

For someone who is constantly on here complaining about being attacked and persecuted, I feel like this post is in the same vein. There is a better way than sniping on this public forum to have a constructive dialogue. Just what is it you are hoping to accomplish by this post?

I see nothing wrong with city employees using the course for free. Big deal. Many employers offer perks to their employees.

Make the employees pay to use the course, like any other citizen in the area. This sh*thole of town is not is not Bloomington-Normal, and has a State Farm Park for the insurance companies employees, as a perk. It is too bad wee willy is "irate", the taxpayer is "irate", also. The city hall employees can shut down at noon on Friday, and go play a round, at the taxpayer's expense. What a racket! The overseas city manager was just wanting annexation, because citizens were using the town's services for free, and wanted force annexation. What a sad play on words. Wee willy, they have kleenex on sale at wally-world, stop by after golf, and get some.

Kyle. I think you stepped over the line by "cyber attacking" Willy. I understand your feelings about the golf course, but I have to take you to task for making it personal.

Kyle - I don't say much on your threads but you are a being a total jerk with this one. I really hope Willy doesn't come on here and feel like he needs to defend himself. I will give him a heads up that ignoring you would bother you more. You hate to be ignored.

Gee, I told them that I didn't think that my family being falsely and publicly declared illegal was called for either yet they not only refused to even acknowledge that we were never illegal, but then Willy came on here to shout out that he had turned his head for some "obvious" crime that they had been talking behind our backs about for years. Did that seem called for? They didn't want to listen to constructive dialogue, so it has resorted to voicing my opinions online. My accomplishment with this thread is to voice my opinions about the golf course subject that many people seem to be very concerned about, point out some of the problems that I see in how our City government does people, and the bonus is to be able to shout out to Willy since he seems to enjoy attacking my family whenever he can.
