If it is as good as the one in Pontiac, they will do a good business in Streator. The one in Pontiac has good food and good prices.

Agree with Otto. Really good food at great prices in Pontiac. Should do well in Streator.

If it is as good as the one in Pontiac, they will do a good business in Streator. The one in Pontiac has good food and good prices. The most popular items on the menu are the gyro, Chicago-style hot dog, Philly cheese steak and Italian beef sandwich. Anthony Naser said part of what makes the restaurant’s gyros so good is their practice of cutting the gyro meat right off the spit, which is essentially a rotisserie. “You are getting freshly cut meat served with homemade tzatziki sauce,” Naser said. “We want people to have the same eating experience at our restaurant that we would want for our family.” In the future the brothers plan to expand the menu. One item Naser would like to offer is Chicago-style sub sandwiches. (I thnk this is the same as the link posted. Same newspaper.) I wish them well.!

Handy Foods on Main St in Ottawa will be selling full racks of ribs for 10 bucks on Friday. We have gone over there before & bought a couple of them in the past. This is usually a charity event.

in my opinion, it is better to do some things very well than to do everything mediocre.....and there is plenty of mediocre to go around.....just my opinion.

in my opinion, it is better to do some things very well than to do everything mediocre.....and there is plenty of mediocre to go around.....just my opinion. I agree. I think if a place did even just burgers and fries really well, they would capture a lot of business. Then build on that with more things that you do well. Far too many places that just get food shipped in frozen off the truck and heat it and serve it. No seasoning, no doctoring, no nothing. Where's the love? 5 Guys do pretty good for themselves cooking burgers and fries. I like what they have done with the signs hanging from the awning. I am looking forward to another choice in town and wish them well. Sounds like a better concept than just more Mexican food. I think everyone still pines for Woodys/Silverfross. 5 Guys does a kick a55 job at burgers, my mom and I were just talking about how well we thought a 5 Guys type place would go over in the area.

I had lunch in Pontiac Saturday. I had the 1/4 burger deal at Hungry Boys. Great deal for $5. Nicely seasoned, good fries, looking forward to their opening here. I went Monday, had the philly cheesesteak and the wife had the chicken breast and baklava. Fries were good. Eveything reasonably priced. The girl at the counter said Streator should be open in a week or two and they will be year round, not seasonal.
