Woodlands graduating class is around 32 this year I believe, it is a much smaller school this is true, but has no where near the discipline issues and in my opinion it is because the 1 principle overseeing the whole school just does not deal with it, there is not chance after chance and a slap on the hand. They do have a dean of students, he also wears the hat of art teacher and coach, but ask any kid out there you do not go up against him, less problems, less staff needed.

In the 70's when I went to Northlawn there were 2 Principals and 4 secretaries. There were also more schools back then. There was at one time 8 or 9 schools. Then there was Oakland and Northlawn that were both k-8 back then. Class sizes are now inching towards 30 in a room. Poverty level is near 70% in the schools. Special education students are at a high rate which requires a lot more requirements. Things change from the good old days to now.

Wonder how much it is costing District 44 to have Oakland sit there empty? It still has to have utilities and maintenance min.
