I say that men are better cooks, because men tend to take the time with what they are cooking. Women tends to get in a hurry.

Boy, you really do want a can of whup put on you...................
There is nothing inherently superior based upon sex in cooking.
I can show you men that flat can cook, as can I show you women.
The ability is based upon experience, the willingness to experiment with flavors and textures, and the person eating the food.
I absolutely HATE much of the fancy, rich foods many top end chefs create, but love what I call "clean" tasting foods, where the distinct flavors of the elements stand out.
I know many who are exactly the opposite.

I was a borderline chef in my early years, then I left and worked in factories at the age of 20. I started cooking at the age of 11 helping my mother in the kitchen, we were best friends, then I would help my father work on cars from time to time.

I make a mean steak, and cook ok I'd say, because I cooked with my Mom growing up. I thank my Mom...
For years I did the measuring and stirring while she ran the throttle...couldn't help but learn a thing or two!

I dare say I've had very good food from both, but to be honest ... stating one gender is better than another is pure ingnorance!! Sniper, I understand what you're saying, I'm not much into rich sauces The use of herbs & spices to bring out the flavors, is my forte

I would rather have Giada in my kitchen, or in any other room in the house, than any male cook I have ever seen.

Depends on what is being made. I would have to agree. When it comes to grilling, I can hands down beat my wife, and she would agree. I think I do better with single ingredients or components. But when it comes to making dishes, knowing when to add and what to add, etc. she kicks my butt.

Hands down, my wife is the better cook. But I agree with a lot of folks about it not having to do w/ gender.

Hands down, my wife is the better cook. But I agree with a lot of folks about it not having to do w/ gender. I would agree that the talent to cook isnt gender related. Decades ago, though, the husband always went out an hunted the food and the wife, prepared the food. Back then, society just designated it as a womans job, hence they were probably better cooks. Now with changes in society, men and women both cook, both provide food for the table, both raise kids etc. So besides cooking, you also cant say anymore that a woman makes a better parent than a man. Other than certain jobs or conditions, you cant really figure gender into the equation.
