It probably needs a complete new roof now before any business would be interested locating there. That recycling place in Ottawa ,there roof is shot ,water pouring into the building. Now I know why they have a sign telling drivers to stay in there trucks. Afraid the roof will fall in on them . Dk know how they can legally run a business there, with the building in that bad of shape. You would think the city or osha would shut it down until the building is up to date with city and state codes

Last I heard, Tractor Supply is still coming, they are working out difficulties with outdoor merchandise sales. K-Mart still has the lease on it.

I would like to see that Tractor supply place to come to Streator. And I hope that the length in time does not effect whether or not they come. It surely took long enough for WalMart to come and start the building on Taco Bell.

What I don't understand is kmart closed. They should have no more rights to that building or property once they closed.

How long has it been since K Mart went out of business, here, in Streator? It seems to me that it would push business away if Feildmen does not want any sort of business in his building. Just a thought.

I agree. IF the building at Northpoint are as bad as people state, than the city needs to start taking action.

Just a thought. The condition of his buildings make it hard for him to attract tenants. With the condition of the building, maybe Mr. Feildman needs to consider maybe selling portions of the building or all and let whom ever tear down and rebuild. If he does not want to maintain what he owns. than get rid of it. Then maybe the Tractor supply place would consider rebuilding in that area for business. Just a thought. That Movie theatre place at Northpoint, I thought that the YMCA was going to take it over at one time. Or was that a rumor?

What I don't understand is kmart closed. They should have no more rights to that building or property once they closed. If you were renting a home and moved away, but the landlord held you to your lease and made you keep paying your rent on it, would you let him then let the neighbors that are his other Tenants use it? Or, would you say NO WAY. Think about it. Also, If those neighbors were hurt on what you are holding a lease on, you could be sued, also. Because anyone suing, would go after any party they could. Besides just being unfair for you to pay the rent while he was also getting money from the neighbor for the use of it, also.

I would just think that it should be Kmart pays the lease for the remainder of the lease or if another business wants to locate there whichever comes first. Like kmart would stop paying if TSC would come in.

Tsc isnt going into the Kmart building. They're going into to kroger building I believe. But, they want to use the parking lot of Kmart, if I understand correctly. Kmart has an issue with that, as they still are required to lease it. Lol, if not, someone will correct me.
