As I said before, you think you're the smartest guy in the room. You are condescending to virtually anyone and everyone. You are a loser, have Little Man Syndrome, choose to babble your BS here. If your civil rights have been violated then go run to the ACLU. They love this kind of stuff and blowhards like you. Laws been broken by the Corporate Authorities? Call Lisa Madigan. She loves that stuff as well. You don't have the nuts to run for office and back up your babbling nor the case to take to the Attorney General to make a case against the mayor or anyone else on the city council. If you did, the way you ramble on about your rights, you would do so. You are a phony pure and simple. You're just too narcissistic to know it. Now go tear that ticket in half. LOL Go ahead and keep calling me names. I hope it makes you feel better! There is no sense in filing any lawsuits or going to get help from Lisa Madigan or the ACLU now. It is done and History now. All that is left now is to keep talking about it, to try to make sure that they don't make the same mistakes again. Maybe high school civics classes in the area could use it as part of their studies of the Constitution, as a local example of how our laws and rights can be trampled. Thanks for taking an interest in my work. I'm done tearing tickets for today. We had 18 shows; with the holiday, there were a lot to tear. The roads didn't seem bad on my way home. I noticed that the Majestic didn't even bother to open.

If it's history why do you perpetuate this?

I'll take "Give it a Friggin Rest, Kyle" for $100 Alec". Hope it's not the Daily Double or this could be too easy.

And Kyle I like how you take so much credit for what you did saving the Majestic and how happy it always seems you are when things aren't going well there. Why is that?

If it's history why do you perpetuate this? Did you miss where I posted the reason already? It is to try to keep them from doing it again.

I probably missed it in the repetitious BS you babble. My bad. Missed the one where you talked about owing somebody some money. Never mind.

Yeah, do you have something to say about me owing someone money? If you are thinking that I owe the Majestic owner anything, you had better find out what you are talking about first. My last conversation with him, had him saying that he would send me some cash when he could. I lived up to every end of my obligations to him and then a lot more on top of it. I will be paying off a third party debt for opening that place for decades to come. I will not have anyone thinking that I owe him anything, when it is the other way around. If you want to get into details of building repairs and payments that I made that I wasn't supposed to have to and some of the other serious repairs the place needed, I will.

Yes, I did put a lot of money and hard work into it and I am proud of it. It doesn't make me happy when things aren't going well there. I have been complaining about the fights because they hurt the Majestic's business too. It probably hurts theirs worse than mine. I think it is a real shame that they do so little business that it wasn't even worth it for them to even bother opening tonight. If they would have been expecting a good amount of customers, I bet they would have been there to make the profits to help pay for digital. However, there's not much sense in driving in the snow for just the chance that a couple people might show up. It is a unique movie-going experience that you can't get just anywhere. It is too bad that more people won't come to Streator to patronize such a beautiful, unique theatre. The movie theatre is beautiful and a streator tradition. Some see it as more than a movie theatre which is how I see it. Out of towners have their own movie theatres and probably won't make the.trip here and she the same movie in their own town and that's their prerogative. They recently had Mandella, a film that didn't play in Ottawa. I'm pretty sure that it didn't play in Pontiac, Peru or Morris either. They had this movie that people in many other nearby communities didn't have in their towns, for three weeks. According to the studio recognized reporting service, they made less than $300 total on it. It really is a shame that so few people will go to the Majestic. When I was running it and trying to get people from out of town here for unique shows, many told me that they just will not come to Streator because of the violence. I wish they could get some help to do more business to make it worth while for Katie to drive over here and open it up. I'll keep trying to get our City leaders to see how bad Streator's reputation of violence hurts business here.

Here's a thought on why it didn't open last night. Weather advisories to stay home and not travel. She stayed home for her safety and her customers.
Out of town people won't come here because of the reputation from the 50's and 60's. I've asked people from out of town why they don't venture over and most say either because of the old stories of Streator or that there's nothing Streator has that their town doesn't so there is no need to come here.

Here's a thought on why it didn't open last night. Weather advisories to stay home and not travel. She stayed home for her safety and her customers. Oh, I must have missed the do not travel orders. Like I said, the roads didn't seem very bad to me on my way home. Wasn't it just a couple hour storm earlier in the day? I didn't see anything coming down in the evening. The weather didn't seem to keep the bar's customers home. Is it safe to travel today? Here's a thought on why it didn't open last night. Weather advisories to stay home and not travel. She stayed home for her safety and her customers. Out of town people won't come here because of the reputation from the 50's and 60's. I've asked people from out of town why they don't venture over and most say either because of the old stories of Streator or that there's nothing Streator has that their town doesn't so there is no need to come here. That reputation from the 50s & 60s is substantiated and perpetuated each time someone is beaten in our streets. I was offering people something they couldn't get in their own towns, trying to get people to come here, spending money on advertising, etc. If you had spent years doing your best to bring people here, because the livelihood of your family and your large investment depended on, I might be more apt to accept your views on the matter. Can you give me an example of one of the businesses that you had as much riding on and tried to get people to come here for, that you are basing your views on? I've been there and experienced it. I am very confident that customers coming out of a movie and seeing people exposing themselves and beating each other in the streets is not good for business.

What can't they get in their own towns that you offered them? Almost every town has a movie theater.

I wish they could get some help to do more business to make it worth while for Katie to drive over here and open it up. I'll keep trying to get our City leaders to see how bad Streator's reputation of violence hurts business here. First off let me say that you should be proud of the Majestic and the work that you did on that and Flips. I know we bash heads a lot and appear more negative than positive. You are a hard worker and I think you do have the interests of Streator in your heart. We can still debate the issues and remain civil to one another. The Majestic provides a nostalgic feel to going to the movies along with the original part of the Roxy. You have said repeatedly that Katie feels the biggest problem with the city is the fighting that occurs near the theater. What I don't see her saying is that is the reason why she has fewer customers. If she feels that is a big reason or the main reason, I think she needs to re-examine things. I love the feel of the Majestic with the balcony and stuff and I would attend many more shows there. Some shows I don't want to wait weeks or maybe never to see that particular show in the Majestic. I don't have to be there on opening night but it isn't a big deal to drive the 20 minutes to the Roxy and watch it in the old part if that is where it is showing. So, not having new releases in a timely matter costs Katie business. I don't know the circumstances with the Mandella movie, it really didn't interest me. It might of been unique that Streator had it but was it only offered to Streator? Why didn't you take it in Ottawa? If it wasn't a movie that would attract customers in the area, why would the exclusivitiy of Streator having it draw big crowds to Streator to watch it? Another reason for lack of attendance at the Majestic is they don't seem to run the good promotion that you ran around Christmas and just ran again. It was a good idea on your part to offer 2 admissions with drinks and popcorn for $14. You really don't lose much giving away the popcorn and pop, maybe $4 in cost? You sold like 1600 of those deals in the last 2 or 3 months. I think that was a great business promotion on your part. So you have a theater that shows first run movies, has 6 screens compared to 2. You run deals that are basically half price, and you are only 20 minutes away. Believe me man, street brawling and public intoxication don't even come close to being the main reasons the Majestic is struggling.

Very well put Dog... That being said, I don't necessarily think it's about the lack of new release movies at the Majestic, but more about the choices in the ones they do get...We've had just about every kids movie under the sun play in Streator, which is great for those with kids...However, that is not conducive to a "Date Night" crowd, or the very retiree's this community seems hell bent on relying upon... If they want to attract more customers, they need to consider the demographics of the WHOLE community, along with running specials...Personally, I like Sci-fi, Horror, Action movies that are rarely available here in town...I think I've actually gone to the Majestic twice in the past 4 years because none of their choices really piqued my interests... I would love to attend more shows, and patronize a local business...But, if all that's available is PG and G rated, I'll go elsewhere...My kids are grown, and my days of Disney and Lego's are long past...

Some of it is community demographics. With the grade school system having a 70% low income population, there isn't a lot of extra money to spend on a night at the movies for 4 people. It would cost about $50? They would rather rent a movie or 2 for under $10 and stay home.
