I was a bit shocked to find out it was the CUBs. I too thought it would be Dodgers or Pirates. Turned out to be the oldest teams were the Cubs and Braves! FROM WIKI--- The club played its first games in 1870 as the Chicago White Stockings, before officially becoming the Chicago Cubs for the 1907 season. The Cubs are the oldest currently active U.S. professional sports club, continuously existing in the same city for their entire history. They are one of the two remaining charter members of the National League (the other being the Atlanta Braves). Since Chicago did not have a fully operating White Stockings team for two seasons due to the Great Chicago Fire, differences continue to be voiced when considering the elder status of this ball club: Although the Braves have played for more consecutive seasons, the Cubs hold the distinction of having been founded a full season earlier (Cubs in 1870 and Braves in 1871).

Dallas Texans 1952-53. They were not the former NYYankees, but they had all the Yank's football players. It was a disaster. No one showed up at the Cotton Bowl and finally the league made them play the rest of their games away. Then it was disbanded. Pro football was just not that popular back then I guess.

MBL Pitcher. He won 7 consecutive World Series starts, all shutouts. He holds the MLB World Series record of 17 strike outs. Because of this, MLB changed the rules for pitchers.

Bob Gibson? Just a guess. I could have guessed Lolitch or McLean, but the 7 games makes me think Cardinals. You are so right. Here is the rest of his story. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Gibson

In 14 years this team won the AL or came in second 12 times (Post 1950's and not the Yankees.)
