as usual FVCK THE SENIORS AND DISABLEDS IN THIS TOWN MENTALITY! you cold hearted b@stards. hope none of you people ever have a problem when you are old or disabled and cannot get out to enjoy this celebration. july 4th represents the declaration of dependence of 1776. FREEDOM!!!!!!!!,CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS!!!!!!!ECT. And everyone should be able to be part of the celebration. You just proved streatorguy was right...you ARE an idiot. And never happy with anything, as junecleaver said. No wonder it's hard to get volunteers to do anything when people like you do nothing but sit back and find fault. You think it's easy? Thanks to those of you who do find time to thank the VOLUNTEER committee. It is much appreciated! We have a great celebration and should be proud, not petty!

Twista - you work so why on Earth could you not get to the SHS football field. Access is easy for everyone and I have seen people in wheel chairs at the football games so why can't you go? You were asking about the carnival. Can you make it to the carnival but not the fireworks? Just wondering why you couldn't go.

Twista - you work so why on Earth could you not get to the SHS football field.. i am speaking for other people. i chose to stay home and watch them there. where i am at the view is the same as if i was sitting at westgate. however their are others that are not lucky enough to have that convience. and 2nd thing is' it is just me on how i choose to watch them. i personally do not like crowds and fighting traffic. and i cannot stand going to sit in the hot sun for 3-4hrs before the fireworks start to get a good viewing spot. if i knew i had a spot right at home 4yrs ago,i would have stayed home then too. but others think different then i do,and would like to go to the fireworks if they could "no transportation" is one reason why most seniors and disableds cannot get out to these celebrations.

I hestitated to post this, because I knew someone would take it down the sewer. Twista, I think you really need to make a resolution: If you can't say anything nice, do not say anything at all. Try it for one entire day, then two. Maybe it'll get easier for you if you focus on positive mentality vs. always finding the negative. Just trying to help you out, in the long run. Sheesh.
What a spectacular show. I hope people were generous towards next year's tradition! Thank you again!

Twista tends to take everything and make it a negative. How pitiful. But you should not hesitate to post something positive. There should be more of it. Thank you for your kind words for the 4th of July committee. They read these boards, too, and need support.

Thank you to the streator 4th of July committee for all the hard work you guys do. Also a thank you from The Rec for allowing us to sell our glow sticks down there for our heating and ac funding.
Twista do you ever post anything besides excuses and poor me sh!t. We get it you had a hard childhood, but PLEASE stop bringing your hatred onto SO. It gets so tiring to read. If your so unsatisfied with streator and our state do us all a favor and move.

One of my coworkers came for the first time, and was impressed. So, the next time Streator is mentioned negatively, bet she comes back in defense. We were talking about fireworks from our youth. Long point, boat club, Henry, etc, etc. When one would be fired off, and you'd see the guys with the flares moving about, and you'd wait minutes for the next! Lol..the big finally would be a little closer, and the flag/waterfall!!! Again, kudos to the committee for their hard work! And to the people of Streator who donate their hard earned money!

Funds are raised year round for this event. In my opinion, our 4th of July committee does an outstanding job of a celebration. It is impossible to make all the people happy all the time. Twista, you feel so strongly about the elderly and disabled being ignored and neglected. Do you have a solution or a plan?

did not have to go to the fireworks. 98% of the fireworks i could see from my home, except the low low ones that are shot off from the back of the bleachers. just looked out the window and watched them. just think how much money in donations the committee would get if they had all high fireworks to where they could go door to door and get donations across the town instead of just around shs area. some people cannot even get out of their homes to go down to the shs field to watch them. either expand the area coverage by buying really high ones that you can see all over town from your homes,or make arrangements to have it televised live on our local access channel so seniors and disableds can enjoy them too. these people are missing out on this celebration. Even if they got the ones that go high a lot of the trees in town would block the view. I do like the idea of them being televised like our Town Meeting are. Maybe you can bring that up at the Town Meeting sometime twista. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
