Think what you want but you only filled out a survey. They wouldn’t be holding this meeting if it wasn’t going to provide further information and answer questions. Do MORE than the bare minimum Rocket. Put some effort in and attend the meeting. Won't go thru with it if its going to raise my taxes. 🤦♀️ It’s necessary repairs. It’s not going to raise your taxes. Anyway, your taxes on your home were less than $1,000 last year. It’s not like you are putting on an addition. Keep coming up with every reason why you won’t or can’t qualify for this potential Grant. Nobody stands in your way more than you do, Rocket.

Her page says, “UPDATE: WE STILL NEED 40 RESIDENTS TO SEND THEIR NAME AND ADDRESS TO streatorgrant@gmail.com to apply for the housing rehabilitation grant. BY FRIDAY 9/29/23. The names and addresses are just being collected at this time to send out surveys. There will be a public meeting in the future. But we need to get 75 total residents.” The application process is much more than replying with your name and address. I hope you follow through once the meeting is announced and then get all of the required documents filled out and turned in. Well after seeing the max income chart she posted,I don't qualify. 1 person max 17,000 a yr . I'm 24,000 a yr. Not eligible for this grant. Did you end up going to the meeting at City Hall to learn the facts of this grant?

Did you end up going to the meeting at City Hall to learn the facts of this grant? I’m willing to bet he did not. And he will give us every excuse in the book as to why he did not go. I hope I am wrong, though.

I hope he went, too. It’s a great opportunity and it pays in all aspects to be your own advocate.

Hoping you went to that meeting Rocket. My nephew went and it is looking good for him. It was set up for people like you.

I am guessing by his lack of response that he did not attend the meeting. That’s a shame. It’s a good program.

I am guessing by his lack of response that he did not attend the meeting. That’s a shame. It’s a good program. No I didn't due to having vertigo issues, which I'm still having and am being referred to a vertigo specialist at Morris hospital. None of the meds I take for it is working anymore. I messaged the mayor prior to that meeting explaining that I couldn't make it due to having vertigo issues and asked her to send me the information to me ,and said she would if they have any left over. Well I talked to her again and she said they didn't have any extra info packets available to send me. So I have to wait for the next grant that becomes available to reapply.
