How many churches in this town are without a minister? Open Bible does not have one. From my understanding First Baptist minister is transferring to another church. SO who knows if they are attempting to replace that one. Central Church of Christ has a new youth minister. So are people loosing interest in going to church in this town, or are they too busy going to bars?

People go to say, a rented out high school gym, for their church services. Smaller groups, more focused ways of interpreting the Bible, etc. I think that is a trend that will continue and may trickle down in some sort of way to smaller towns.

Either they are losing interest or they've taken up drinking on a Sunday morning? lol A lot of clergymen move from one congregation to another after a few years. It's quite common.

How do you feel about Jehovah Witness's coming to your door step preaching? I really don't care for them doing that. Just my opinion, though.

Where I'm from, just about every religion came knocking. Though I don't remember Protestant, Catholic, or Judaism. Plenty of Jehovahs, Baptist and Mormon.

Just strip down to your shorts, grab a beer and answer the door with the greeting " What the hell do you want?" Generally turns them around quickly.

My personal favorite: Why would a Jehovah go to a house that is decorated for a holiday? Do you really think they'll change? A good way to get rid of a Mormon was to blare Ozzy. They couldn't get away fast enough. Lol!

When they come to my door I greet them with respect, tell them what church I attend then they usually say ok and read a prayer for me. No need to be disrespectful.

You haven't met the persistent ones. I'm normally quite patient, but the last 2 sets that came around I thought I was going to have to let the dogs loose.

I've known people from all sorts of different religions and respect their beliefs. I just don't believe you should have to sell your religion. Anybody getting an unwanted knock at the door will try to get rid of that person quickly, no matter what it is about.
