Just pointing out the hypocrisy of it all. She sure does have a right to believe what she darn well pleases. However,if one cannot do the job correctly by order of law, then she needs to resign, be fired and/or in jail. Her God, is not everyone's God. What would happen if she refused gun licenses for same reason? How would you feel, then all you gun owners? Or divorce papers? She is hardly the poster child for a good marriage nor should she judge others on theirs. Tosh, yet you see no hypocrisy on the part of those demanding their license from THIS particular clerk. Let me ask you this question, are these people even from that county? As for the gun remark, do all clerks refuse, or am I acting like a flaming 2 year old child demanding this one do it? I do not believe any of us has the right to remove a civil function of another, but that means it goes both ways, you do not have the right to remove my beliefs either, which you are attempting to do every day. As for the worst hypocrite? That would be the one who doesn't believe they are one.............

Davis did have have an interesting past, but then got religion. Converts are in a class by themselves. After I read her "back story", I understood more on WHY she feels the way she does. I still disagree, but I have a better grasp on what makes her tick. Yep born again. Born again, to discriminate against something, for which she disagrees. She needs a new job! Where is that tolerance the Pope is teaching? Gee, Idk. Where IS it?

So who's to say they are God's words? Where was man when the first Bible was written? Since we have found Biblical passages carved in stone, dated prior to any other written passages, could we not assume that we are missing a BUNCH of stone carvings if what passes for our current Bible is really Gods words?

Didn't save the Officers of the Waffen-SS now did it? Somehow "My un-elected, rogue court disagreed with your word God, I had no choice........" doesn't seem like such a powerful argument when you consider the length of the afterlife. Not that I get into this born again crap, I hate hypocrisy on both sides equally.

She is most definitely from that county. It is the family job. Her mother was the County Clerk for something like 37 years. I guess state's rights was not settled by the Civil War.

Breaking news at NBC.com. A federal judge has ordered a Kentucky clerk to jail after she refused to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples.
Kim Davis, 49, a clerk in Rowan County, was found in contempt of court on Thursday morning. She has said issuing marriage licenses to gay and lesbian couples would "violate God's definition of marriage" and infringe on her personal beliefs as an Apostolic Christian.
District Court Judge David Bunning said that she is bound by an oath of office to perform her duties under the law, and ordered her to jail.

Granted, She had a job that she was getting paid to do, but jail is pushing it. Yes, terminate her from her position I would agree with. There is far worst things that people are doing that should require jail/prison time.
