That disgusts me. I also can't stand, in winter, when parents have nice heavy jackets on and the kids don't. Some people claim they can't pay their bills but go partying every weekend. Don't have money for food, but saving for a vacation. Priorities people. Kids are the priority.

What difference does it make if I help pay for it through my phone bill, my taxes or however? Us working people take it from all angles these days. No wonder all of our a$$es are sore. Um ... maybe THIS??? " Obama just keeps giving to the people who elected him into office." I guess you didn't read the article then? It started when Clinton was in office.

It started with programs for assistance with landlines in the beginning. While I am not a democrat or supporter of Obama, It really does annoy me when people make a big deal out of getting "free phones omg" . First of all the phones are older model basic phones that do nothing more than call and text. They are not smart phones. They are not even the ones in between that have some limited data capabilities . Second they don't provide more than 250 minute a month. The normal user wouldn't find that useful at all.

From the free stuff Streator site, it seems that most people HAVE internet access. Just a few days ago, there was a post from someone who was asking for meat that anyone had because they said they didn't have food to feed their 3 kids. Someone pointed out that if they have up their internet, they would have some money available. I never quite understand how people can't see that you give up the non essentials when it gets to the point that you don't have food for your kids! Ugh, I saw on that same thread another person who is a Link recipient offering to take the woman to the store and use her Link card for groceries. People need to learn how to stretch their dollar. Go back to basics. People disappoint me. Continually.

Maybe if they started turning in all the ones who sell their cards, and make them pay it back, they'll quit breaking the rules. Yeah.... Right..
