There's a limit to 'the customer is always right'. Like when they are breaking the rules. I agree, I think that at 24, you are well past being a 'kid' and as an adult, should be responsible for your actions when caught doing something wrong. Would a person take their own drinks into a restaurant? A bar? And why would he think he should be refunded his money if he had been playing for a couple hours? Was she yelling across the green for them to bring the cart back? From the added info from both sides, using the word imposter was a little misleading.

I'm glad that you're doing better after what you've been through. A few people have been kind in their comments and have avoided beimg abusive with their comments. I'm sorry you still feel your son was abused at the course. You say he plays all the time at other courses and never has a problem. Well it's posted on the main door at Anderson's that carts don't go out past 5:30 and will be turned in at 7PM. That's pretty exact. Your son signed in at 5:20 and was asked to turn his cart in at 7:10 PM at which time he was caught with the beer he brought onto the course. There is not a course that I know of in LaSalle County or anywhere that allows any person to bring their own beer on to the course. I'm sure that your son wouldn't have tried that at Twin Creeks or the Eastwood Course. In all honesty had your son went out on a Sunday afternoon early and took 3 hours to play, not one word would have been said to him, and in all probability no one would have seen him bringing the beer on the course. Your son got caught, plain and simple. Don't blame a very nice lady for doing her job. She's worked out there a decent amount of time and hasn't had any problems with any other folks. Maybe he owes somebody a big SORRY. Really Willy? You think people should apoligize when it is shown that they could have been wrong? After the City made thier very public declaration that my family was illegal, I showed that the City's then existing Accessory Use ordinance did make our residency legal, but the City certainly didn't say they were SORRY did they? After being sternly threatenef with a fine for not getting a permit for a four foot fence that the inspector insisted required a permit, he didn't say SORRY. When I was stopped (at a meeting with no public input allowed) from using City Park based on the subject to be discussed, did anyone say SORRY that Constitutional Rights are not honored here? Do you really think an apology is owed for someone having to do the job that tax payers pay for? How about a big SORRY for passing that ridiculous snow removal ordinance that puts huge expenses or the threat of daily fines on businesses?

OMG helen, rules were broken and that is a bad thing in your eyes? How about if grown men pulled their pants down in front of children on the course (or anywhere), pulling their peni s completely out and fully exposing themseles to urinate? Wouldn't that be breaking rules too? Shouldn't people old enough to drink in the bars also be old enough to be potty trained? Don't you think that people exposing themselves in the middle of our downtown streets where people have a lot invested into trying to have a family oriented business is a much larger rule violation than bringing some beer onto the course?

Seriously! Will somebody from the City of Streator please tell Mitchell "SORRY" so he shuts the heck up already. An acknowledgement at the time that they were wrong would have done a lot. It's a little late for apologies now, but if they were to start doing things differently, solve some of the ptoblems, and start producing better results, I would be happy to talk more positive.

On behalf of the citizens of Streator we would like to extend an apology to you Kyle:
We are sorry that you took something that was said at a meeting about people living illegally in downtown building as a personal attack on yourself and made it public so that everyone would feel sorry for you.
We are sorry that a minimal amount of people who frequent our downtown does not have the decorum to not pee in the street and that we cannot parent everyone who lives here.
We are sorry that you threw a fit about a snow removal ordinance that did not exist so we made one and it is to strict in your opinion ( guess the saying "carefull what you ask for" comes to mind).
But most of all we are SORRY that you RE-LOCATED HERE...........There is no way to apologize big enough for how sorry we are at that one!!!!!!!!!!

You don't care, Kyle. You just love travelin' down memory lane and talkin' about those days when you were videotaping all those free-swingin' johnsons.

I am sorry that your eyesight is not good enough to actually see the changes that are being made in our fair city. Perhaps a visit to one of our local optometrists can correct that for you. I do believe that the city is in the midst of removing the eye sore building that they own downtown. The one that concerned you so much and caused you to constantly post pictures and reference it in your diatribes. I would think you'd being doing cartwheels in front of your building seeing that come down.

To everyone that thinks Kyle is being to Negative about Exposing what goes on Downtown. SO SORRY but when I drove OTR I had companies that refused to HIRE me BECAUSE I LIVED IN STREATOR. Why because even in the 90's they were AFRAID of their trucks being Vandalized having equipment stolen from them and other ISSUES. I am not talking small carriers either I am talking Carriers that hauled Seafood for Major Grocery Chains. Hell one place flat out told me that we never hire anyone from Little Chicago aka Streator why we had 3 drivers from that area and all of our loads that went there on Home time ended up busted INTO and the POLICE sat on theirassand refused to investigate anything.
Willy I hate to tell you this but Streator has a BAD Reputation in the OTR and Logistics Industry.

And another one heard from that like to whine and complain but not do anything to change it, you say you HAD to move back here, not true, you could have moved to Kangley, Long Point, South Streator, Manville, Wenona, Ottawa anywhere close by and not have to deal with the town you hate so much!

Never will happen. Wasn't I talking more positive when the City Manager stareted talking about a solution to some of the problems, pointing out that Anything's Possible? However then the Council caved in to show more support for liquor license holders doing things as they always have.

I would think you'd being doing cartwheels in front of your building seeing that come down. Yes, I did use that building as an example of the double standards that they seem to believe in. They went around threatening other building owners with $750.00 daily fines for the condition their buildings were in, while they kept one of the most deplorable ones. That is just one small change, but obviously the bars are still allowed to create the negative impacts, property owners are still subject to paying daily fines for not removing "all" the snow from the sidewalks (another law they seem to refuse to follow themselves), they are still spending money that they don't have, and our City continues to publicly declare people illegal without first providing "proof" that they are. I can see what is happening, a lot of doing things the same way and not enough positive change.

Why I did not move to the Cities Listed called I CAN NOT FREAKING DRIVE also called in an Emergency with my Mother at least where I am I can get there in less than 10 Mins if I have to. Also it is called trying to find an Affordable HOUSE to Rent in the Area mommy to 4. I Grew up in this Freaking City I poured my Money in the Early and Mid 90's into the 4th of July Celebration when we had the Brass Under Glass the Murphy Bluegrass Shows up here. I spent my Hard Earned Cash at the Local Places including the Majestic the Northpoint Cinemas. When I started being Harassed by the City along with my parents I said Screw it since I had the Means to get out of town to spend my cash OUTSIDE OF TOWN I DID. Why should I give a City that thinks less of a Hardworking Citizen that drives a Truck does NOT DRINK as I did not and HAVE NOT Ever I never brawled expect 1 time in HS when I was attacked 3 on 1. So why should I stay in a town that anymore has Zero things for my YOUNG kids to do ZERO JOBS that pay Decent and has per Housing Cost the HIGHEST PROPERTY TAXES IN THE FREAKING NATION. You do the math Streator IL on what is a 100K home is the Highest Taxes in the FREAKING NATION even Higher than NH NJ NY MA CT CA RI and the rest of IL. We have a Joke of a Police Force that can not solve Jack Squat will not do JACK SQUAT a City Council that is trying to hide its true goals when it wants to force Annex people into the city. What is it with the people of this city they think it is going to revive itself YEAH RIGHT. In this state the Corruption is so deep that even the Mafia do not get their Cut after the Political Leadership is DONE with their CUTS.

Wow. There is no way I would stay in a town I despised that much. I'm thinking the trucking companies just gave you a line of B.S. because they just didn't want to hire YOU. I know plenty of truck drivers that make a living and reside in Streator.
Hey, this is also 2015. Not the 1990's. I never can understand people that don't deal with a problem and then move on from it. Harboring such resentment for so many years can't be good for one's health.
