Kyle - I don't say much on your threads but you are a being a total jerk with this one. I really hope Willy doesn't come on here and feel like he needs to defend himself. I will give him a heads up that ignoring you would bother you more. You hate to be ignored. lucky 1, I agree completely! Kyle tries to "SUCK ALL THE OXYGEN OUT THE FORUM". When anyone replies to Kyle, he repeats his same old accusations! He, of course, may enjoy his "First Amendment Right". We do not have to respond to his accusations, hearsay, or innuendoes. Without evidence that is worthy to be presented in a Courtroom, he is like a "Banty Rooster" with a need to crow. Just My Opinion, of course. I do expect an immediate response from Kyle................ One, two, three.................. g

He is trying to ruin Willies reputation, Kyle should just leave it alone! and take the correct steps in what He is doing, maybe Kyle is not taking those steps because He has no proof on any of it, What did I say to try to ruin his reputation? Didn't I only talk about his quotes, other info in the paper, and what our leaders have done? What do you want proof of, that Willy helped pass a ridiculous snow removal ordinance that has not only been ineffective at all in creating a clear path for shoppers, but puts prospective business owners under the threat of daily fines if they didn't budget huge amounts to remove "all" the snow?

Willy doesn't work for the city anymore anyway!! What difference does that make? Didn't a previous article talk about some retirees taking advantage of the free golf? Not working for the City anymore didn't stop Willy from publicly announcing that my family was "obviously" committing some crime that required head turning, did it?

Still, one doesn't have to work for the City to get their reputation destroyed! I know. They worked hard to destroy my family's reputation. Willy is the one who likes to talk about my family. It's not like I'm claiming that he did anything illegal like he did with us, am I?

Kyle. I think you stepped over the line by "cyber attacking" Willy. I understand your feelings about the golf course, but I have to take you to task for making it personal. Willy had no problem coming online and making it personal by claiming that my family were some kind of criminals breaking laws to require head turning. Then he came on claiming that there was something wrong with me socially because I didn't go to school in Streator to get his playground style attitude adjustments and that he must not think I athletic enough because he would have forced me to be either a boxer or track star. He is the one in the newspaper talking about the golf course, not me. How is it that my asking some questions about his newspaper comments is making it any more personal than his attacks against me? He likes talking about others.

I've gotten that from our City leaders often, so now instead of even posing the questions to them, most times I just ask people online the things that I wonder. After caving in to the liquor license holders, do you think that they will come up with a solution to the "increasing" problems so that we might be able to have more things like a movie palace in Streator?

My son and his best friend just came home from Anderson Golf Course. Never again will they golf there. Seems since he was new, the attendant felt the need to watch their every move. They paid for their golf and the cart. They are good kids....never ever been in trouble with the law....EVER! The ONLY reason they did not go to Twin Creeks or to the Counrty Club was because of leagues there tonight. The lady threatened to call the cops on them after he defended himself to her accusations. Yes there are two sides to every story but from my stand point, this type of treatment was over the top!
I was not going to comment on this topic but my now I am. My son did not get his money worths because I guess he was considered a hoodlem....at least that is how he was treated. Never got his moneys worth either for what he paid.
I AM LIVID.
These two guys are grown men ages 24. They have good jobs that they work hard at. They are not rich and try to spend their money wisely. They are not children who are running through the golf course doing cart wheels. My son golfs at the Counrty Club ALL THE TIME! HE HAS NEVER BEEN TREATED THAT WAY THERE.
Kyle you have a valid point. Run with it. I always try to spend my money in Streator but that course will never get another dime from us. They felt VERY UNWELCOMED FROM BEGINNING TO END!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Shameful!

You're pretty vague on the accusations Wilbert. Care to be more specific? My kids have golfed there and had a great time.

Mine was treated like an imposture. People need to treat people the way they would want to be treated. My sons friend lives out of town. He went back home feeling very unwelcomed at this course. No worries, none of my family will go back. It really is a shame this town has nothing for kids to do. There is no pool, no theater, no skate park. This town is to geared towards retired folks. Let me add, I have no problem with city employees golfing for free. Good for them! THIS IS A ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND HOW A BUSINESS TREATS A PAYING CUSTOMER. Sure you can golf, if you are welcomed guest on the course. Goodluck with that.

There was one day that every time I dealt with a business I received poor service. Working with the public you have to remember who's paying your bills. They are. Unless they get out of line, they should be treated with respect. You're here for them, not the other way around. That day made me more determined to even improve my customer service.

The kids can go to the bandshell, enjoy the new Anderson fields golf lodge, and play at the west park that the good old boys wanted to sell. What else could they ask for? They could even stop on Main Street and stare at the big rock and look at the plater walls around them.

My grandsons all play golf with their dad. Ages 14 (he plays on the high school golf team), 11, & 9. They also play baseball, basketball, and played soccer year round, till it conflicted too much with their other sports. I keep hearing of more women I know taking up the game, also.
