the hospital is a business and it`s there to make money. if its losing money you can bet it will find ways to make a profit or it will be closed. I being catholic myself know from what happened to the fine churches we had in this community long ago that religion has nothing to do with the decisions to close places. the main decision today is if a place is losing money you either downsize or consolidate. the city is scared that if OSF buys the hospital that it will close it because the area is saturated with OSF hospitals.

I received in the mail that Dr. Ricca is not seeing patients at the hospital any longer but is in his clinic.

In your opinion, should St. Mary's Hospital close or have OSF or someone buy it and attempt to keep it running?

No matter what, St. Mary's will close. Hopefully, in the end, we will still have a hospital. Unfortunately we do not have any control over the matter.

no matter what health care organization takes over you can bet there will be massive cuts. the bottom line is they want a profit and according to the last 5 years of tax records it hasn't looked pretty.

Really? OSF has more people over there than St. Fleeces does, perhaps they get a better class of Administrator?

it could be run better that is for certain sniper. when you go to the emergency room and sit there for 4 to 5 hours waiting to be treated something isn't right.

I have been in the emergency room at St. Mary's and have never, ever waited more than 45 minutes.
