news isn't good for a lot of my friends that work there. most knew this was coming seeing that a building of that size wasn't needed. it is a sad day for the streator area.

So kind of a conflicting reports?
EDIT: now this tweet

Well, it appears that the City was right. As usual, right but wrong. A 30,000 square foot facility is pretty impressive for a city the size of Streator. It will be capable of extensive inpatient services..............

Unless I read it wrong there will not be extensive inpatient servives. In fact, there will be no inpatient services at all. How is it any different now, than it will be in the future? If you go there now with symptoms of a myocardial infarction(heart attack), you will be flown to either Springfield or Peoria. If you need surgery of any kind, it's having the surgery and you go home, the same day. If you go to the Emergency room with a fracture arm, the ER doctor will not cast, you have to go to your primary doctor to get casted. You need blood work done and really don't know if results are correct. So, how I look at it, OSF system will not be much difference then as it is now. In fact, I just was at the er recently and received discharged instruction for another individual that was also in the er the same time I was. So it makes me wonder whom else received other patient's info.
