SPRINGFIELD (AP) — A lawsuit seeking to block construction of a Wenona hog farm has been dismissed by a central Illinois judge.
Opponents of the 20,000-head hog farm in Marshall Country had challenged developer VMC Management Corp. of Williamsburg, Iowa, and the Illinois Department of Agriculture, which granted preliminary approval of the project in October.
The (Peoria) Journal Star reports Sangamon County Circuit Judge John P. Schmidt ruled Thursday the citizens' group Save Our Sandy has no legal standing to halt the project.
The group's name is a reference to a creek near the site. Group members said they have not yet decided whether to appeal the ruling.
Local residents who oppose the project argue the hog farm will create increased traffic and noxious odors while driving down property values.

That's why so many Muslims are wrapped a little too tight, their God doesn't let them eat BACON! Wouldn't you be upset too? I would be a pretty frustrated camper. (My God loves me so much, I can eat what I like) God is awesome! Hehe, check this one out......... If they didn't take so long to make, you could sell them by the truckload at the BD.............

Ahh the good ol days,of sitting out on the porch smelling hog crap making your eyes water and drinking lemonade . I spent a lot of time at my grandparents home in the country when I was a kid. They were only mile or 2 away from the hog farm west of kangley. They were so used to the smell it didn't phase them, but everyone else that was visiting them made their eyes water.

Where I grew up, there was a pig farm. Everyone knew where it was and you rolled up the car windows so far before and after you passed it. Phew! We had one pig when I was a kid. It turned mean and it was slaughtered. The guy kept turning it away from me when he was gutting it. I kept moving to see. Best ham and bacon I ever had.
