All I can tell you, is that Town and Country, that there are people that lives there. But as far as quality, I could not tell you that.

The Pines was completely redone, and it looks far better...I don't know about the guests, but one would assume they've also improved...

Had some relatives in town recently. They stayed at the Pines for two nights. They said it was clean and well managed. Much improved from days past.

I think it really helps that they invested in the community, decided to stay on site, and keep tabs on their clientele. Absentee ownership is never a good thing. Hats off to them.

This is something Streator truly Needs !
YEARS Ago, we'd have family come to town around the holidays and stay at The Town & Country for 3 nights.
The owners were awesome ! There was never anyone other than our kids, nieces, & nephews in the pool when the kids wanted to swim.
We'd pack up a cooler with beverages and bring snacks, the kids were " Happy Campers " as well as the adults. At times the kids would want to come & go multiple times in a day, which was great.
The management never said a word. We'd take all garbage with us and the pool area and restrooms always seemed to be clean.
So grateful to have a large space for the kids to enjoy. It's unfortunate this is not still available for families to enjoy, now.
I always thought if they would rent the pool area for Birthday parties or have the pool open for Aquatic Therapy; it would help the owners financially. I'm sure Liability Insurance rates would be costly, but they kept the water temperature ALOT warmer than the YMCA.
This IS a Huge issue for ACHES & PAINS for this body......

Here is one thing Streator is missing, years ago when the nuc plant had the outage they stayed here, now the hotels are so nasty they stay in Ottawa, that's a lot of revenue we are losing!

Last time my brother came to town, he didn't even consider Streator. He stayed in Ottawa at a motel across from Dunkin Donuts. I agree, the Pines looks good and I wish the new owners all the best. Can't say much positive about the other two places. T&C used to be a great place, but those times are in the rearview mirror.
