Masked Man you own the Big Dipper? I did not know that. I have never been there but plan on trying it. I have heard all good things. A friend was describing one of your sundaes yesterday (bananas, hot fudge and pie crust). It's her fav and she could not wait to get one.

I miss Roys drive in! Grew up going there. I think you could expand easily when you are ready.

Thanks HC, I think everyone in town misses ALL our old Drive ins. I don't think food is an impossibility out here someday. It just requires a hood. The hood needs a fire suppression system. Install THAT and insurance premiums go CRAZY. Increased costs require increased income, volume, customers. LOL, think BBQ......... Outside cooking, hardcore fan base........ Yea, it is a dream.

LOL, certainly a good thought too Sniper. I love it when some group has a cookout for lunch. That's one thing I miss a lot about Streator Foods. Nice weather on Saturdays there was almost always some charitable group out there selling sandwiches off the grill. That's certainly a possibility and we have checked with the health department. Requires a roof or canopy of some kind and a hand wash station.....not too tough. We have an outdoor faucet, not too tough to make it into a wash station. We are not open for Lunches...we both work and are stretched a little thin already keeping nightly evening hours.....Certainly a good thought....maybe having in charitable groups for Saturday Lunches would be a good way to start. Smoked meats......hhmmmm.....now that is a totally different area....... Now you are thinking........ How about Saturday night picnic in Streator? Who says BBQ picnics have to be at noon?

Another one you are going to laugh at is root beer pulled pork sandwiches..... I thought what the heck, but my buddy makes it here at work, and man is it good, he first saw it at the Iowa state fair....... a pulled pork sandwich with just a hint of root beer coming thru the BBQ.

You don't cook the pork in the root beer, it is added after the meat is cooked and pulled but before the BBQ is added.

No, but according to Kyle, it would behoove you to have a few sacrificial beers to toss into the street in case you are attacked by drunks. I really am sorry, I just couldn't resist............ Thread derail in 3,2,1............

Nah Sniper the Beers are helpful on weekends so if you are Downtown your not getting your rear Kicked by the Drunks in one of the many bar fights that do happen.

I neglected to mention Planet Pizza/Outer Limits right up the street too. It's a Neighborhood bar/Pizza place as most of you know. I don't mind it one bit. Good folks, always been some friendly patrons. Never had any problems I am aware of. I don't have any problem if someone wants to have a few beers. People are people wherever you go, some good, some not so good, bars, Church, wherever.....we have a Church just a block away as well, no problems there either. Maybe we are just blessed with a good Neighborhood..... Pizza Parlor/Tavern, Ice cream shop, Gun Shop, Church....all within about a Block....not too bad...... Lets not forget the bridge MNM lol
