The drive inn in Earville opens for the season in April. I am looking forward to going. Just too bad Streator does not have one. The gentlemen in Earville has to make a killing for his drive inn.

I have never been to that one. Streator used to have one just north of RP lumber. Only went a few times. Do they still have speakers you hang on the window, or do they somehow broadcast sound that can be picked up on a car's stereo?

You can either listen to the speaker or listen to a certain radio staion in the car.

Ahhh the ole Earlville Drive-In is in such an iconic time warp era! We love that place, and anyone that has never ventured there to watch a double feature and head to the snack bar is truly missing out on a trip down memory lane! Can't wait to go again this year when it warms up! M

Can you take your own snacks in, or do they check vehicles prior to entry? I recall my Dad making the BEST POPCORN in Paper Grocery sacks, and a cooler of Kool Ade before we'd leave for the Drive in Movies. It was a real treat to get candy at the " Count Down Break. " My parents really didn't have the money to spend. This made going to the Drive In movie more special for us. We never had the opportunity to go to the Drive In north of town before they closed. What a SHAME; I think every little one should experience it at least once..... (especially in their jammies)...

I grew up going to the drive-inn north of town. Lots of things you can do at a drive-in and if worst comes to worst.........you can watch the movie.

But I've never knew if he actually checked for coolers though. We've bought soda and snacks with us because of the cost at the concessions. But we do buy the popcorn at concessions I like the movie theatre popcorn.

Streator had a drive-in. It closed. What makes you think anyone would support it now?

Been a few years since we have gone. Maybe we will go this year. Always a good time Why don't you try to get a group of families to go as a group to the Drive inn from your church. I'm sure that many of people have not been there in years or not at all and would be fun thing to do. Especially the youth group. Many if not most of the youth from your church have not ever been to a drive inn and may really enjoy it.
