Three eagles seen driving through Tonica this afternoon. Lots of Coopers Hawks this winter. Have one residing here that dives into our bird feeding area to feed on the overwintering Junkos. Plenty of Cardinals here, but have not seen any Robins that others have talked about. Maybe the weather is just still too rough out here in the wide open countryside.

What do you think of that gentlemen that is in court about attempting to save those Eagles? I think he did the right , moral thing. Just my opinion, though.

He was found not guilty. I, have not really paid attention(shame on me), but alot of folks, are complaining about the money spent to prosecute.

It really bothers me that the government is so h*llbent on prosecuting and spending not only taxpayers money to do this but also depleting this individuals life savings in the process. It is really disturbing watch our government do this to an obviously well meaning individual.

I think if the government was going to spend taxpayers money, it should be a legit, time consuming effort than to waste money on someone attempting to do right.

generously overlooked many times. The time has come for someone to hold him accountable in a court of law. Admissions of guilt in the press to generate sympathy are not acceptance of responsibility. If Patterson had no previous history with law enforcement, or if he only would have taken the "injured" eagle to Flint Creek without the lies and deceptions, Conservation Police and I agree it would have been a different story, and in essence, no story, as charges would not have been pursued.
Respectfully submitted,
Brian J. Towne
La Salle County State's Attorney

they have been hanging around from 2nd avenue to the Riverview cemetery area for a year. I truly believe they have a nest some where down there but haven't found it yet. they fly back and forth over my house during the summer.

This past summer, I saw couple of eagles in the area that I fish at. I do not mind seeing them at all. I enjoy watching the birds, period, when I fish.

Someone posted a picture of an Eagle, on facebook, last night. They stated in the post, that the eagle,,was near Eagle church area. Which in the picture that was posted, it did look like the eagle was in the feild. But I thought that was odd, due to no food of any sort there. I know that eagles eat fish and do eat on maybe things like dead animals, for example, maybe a deer that was hit. My spouse, seems to think that there has been an increase of eagles around this area.
